FOGGED OUT
by Daniel Rufus on Jan 06, 2007 11:52 AM

Flight delays due to natural calamities is common all over the world. However, the issue of FOG in Delhi is not something which comes as a surprise each year.It is so predictable.
My questions are :

1.Why don't domestic airlines train their pilots on
CAT III to avoid much inconvenience to their
Customers each year. I understand that being
trained on CAT III does not solve the whole problem.
However,90% of the problem can be solved.

2.Why are there so many complaints from Customers
regarding the ineffeciency of airline staff at the
airports ? Have we developed a carefree attitude
towards our Cutomers ?

3.Last but not least,we need to understand what DGCA
really means..."DELHI GOVERNMENT CANNOT ANSWER"as
to why there is so much confusion about FOGGY ISSUES
year after year!!!!!!!

Regards,

Daniel Rufus

World over everybody has learnt to live with the delay due to fog and natural calamities.
Let us in India also not make a fuss and learn to live with these hick up's.

We can live with fog delays but the question is why our airlines not taking any action. FOg is nothing new at this time of the year... how long with they keep saying CAT III is expensive.....They care about their costs not about customer satisfaction. Fog delays happen in the US and UK but are customers treated shabbily... U bet tehy r not or customers will sue for mental harrasement and causing of emotional trauma. If ppl start this in India, Air deccan will go bankrupt

Air Deccan overcharges
by Anand on Jan 05, 2007 10:07 AM  | Hide replies

Air Deccan has made it a habit of poor service and over charging passengers.
Air Deccan claims big things but the service they provide is truly small.
Please check the items they sell on board. Except for water, you will find that most items are being sold above MRP.
They even charge FULL TAXES (including surcharge) for infant tickets. If you check all airlines for Infants fares, except Go Air, which charges only the mandatory Rs.225/- as taxes, all other airlines very conveniently charge the surcharge also. Infants are not allotted seats. Why should the airlines charge them the surcharge ???
It is a mockery of the Airline Industry.
And Air Deccan is the worst of the lot.
Sometimes I truly wonder if Capt Gopinath even cares for his passengers well being. As the saying goes -
"yatha Raja....thatha Prajaa" (As is the King.... so is the same with his subjects)

Its not the Fog its the attitude of us all
by Sreeram Rallabhandi on Jan 04, 2007 11:04 PM

I have been living in london for the past 3 years and fog is nothing new to Heathrow airport. infact recently within 3 days more than 1000 flights were cancelled. people were stranded at the airport. But the most interesting part was the way the airport authorities and the passengers themselves made the situation so easy. We indians would make a mess of such situations because of poor planning and execution from airport authorities side and also as passengers we would definately try to cut the lines for a boarding pass / resturants / lounges etc etc. we wouldnt hesitate to throw rubbish everywhere except the dustbins. all in all its the attitude of us indians which makes matters worse.

And ofcourse would someone care to ask that corrupt lalu why does he claim the railway is in profit now?? Railways has always been in profit, it was probably never shown. Also if he could turn around railways as he claims why is Bihar still in such a poor state of affairs???

Some changes according to me !!!!!
by Nandkishore on Jan 03, 2007 11:51 PM

Changes according to me:
1]Pre alert system like airtel, bsnl are doing for their subscriber
2]Person who already reached airport they should be sent to some hotels where atleast passengers can stay or relax.
3]Qualified and understanding people on the airport to help people on airport

i think we have solutions to the problem
by Gautam Satapathy on Jan 03, 2007 04:16 PM

Fog is the thing which I think could be handled technically. I think it is high time that centre should constitute people for that. Taking into consideration the past situation which informs us well about the problem and it needs attention taking into the priority of the work and responsibility and so also the influx of the tourist which is also is need of the hour. It also a matter of prestige of the nation.

No facility for passengers of delayed flights
by Manoj Verma on Jan 02, 2007 08:45 PM  | Hide replies

I reached Delhi Airport at 3:30 AM to catch Jet Airways flight to Singapore with scheduled departure time as 8:10 AM. I came from Bhopal hence directly went to Airport.
But they even didn't allow me to enter the departure hall. They expect passengers to wait outside till their flight departure time gets confirmed. That too in such a cold weather. I was really shocked.
It was quite a bad experience. My flight could take off only at 2 PM.
I have given my feedback to Airport Authority but I am not sure whether somebody will look at it.

We can only pity you. Why did you give back the blanket and pillows at the scheduled time when the train has not reached the destination? There is no rule which states that the blanket and pillows should be handed over at the scheduled time. They are meant for using till the destination is reached. And why did you people give them tip when you were totally dis-satisfied with their service? Tip is a measure of customer's satisfaction for the good service provided to him/her.
