Resume needs to genuinely represent the candidate's strength
by on Feb 28, 2007 12:37 AM

A resume needs to accurately portray a candidate's skills. This makes it easier for an organization to identify whether the candidate is a good fit for them.

An embellished resume(or a completely fake one) reflects poorly on the integrity of the candidate. It is an affront to all the decent, hard-working men and women of this country. People ought to be proud of their accomplishments and contributions, however minisclue they might be. It is always a good feeling to show up in an interview, hand them your resume and answer their questions knowing fully well that nothing could go wrong since truth is on your side.

It is important not to approach an interview with a view to 'somehow' get the job. It is this desperate feeling that causes folks to fabricate their resume. Remember that a job interview is also an opportunity for the candidate to identify if the organization is going to be a good fit for him/her.

A strong nation is built from the quality of its citizens. Hard-working, honest, exemplary citizens make the nation proud. If we stand true to our beliefs we will make India one of the finest nations in the world. Let us be truthful in portraying our accomplishments and we will prevail.

Companies fake the CV too
by on Feb 24, 2007 09:16 PM

The Companies fake CVs too. I was with one of the CMMI level 5 co. in India, where they asked me to modify the technologies I've worked on, just to impress their client & get the project. Does NASSCOM know about this? If they do, I feel pity. if they do not, I feel more pity. Thanks.

FAKE CVs
by Babu A on Feb 24, 2007 09:07 PM  | Hide replies

Its interesting to note the various views people have been presenting in regard.

As a matter of fact "Original" resumes are getting difficult to sell in the Job Market. Experience and Skill seem to take a back seat.

Recruiters are looking for "Custom Fit" resumes' and seem to be getting it. This has caused a new industry to look into the market...background check...

HR in any company is more oriented with recruitment rather than being involved in people development activity. No wonder its simply called the HR now and not HRD any more!!!!

God save the people!

Another new way of making money!!
by Mohammed Qadeer on Feb 24, 2007 05:16 PM

Hey, this topic seems to be going really hot! Someone rightly said why arent the fake offers and fake companies brought to light!! I graduated around 2years back and at that time being a fresher, i could feel the pain when someone gets fooled by companies! Why is it that there's no action against them!! Yes, its bcoz nasscom does get money while they register a services company. And another new method of making money is https://nationalskillsregistry.com/ they charge 250/- rs for registration. It may look to be a small amount but when multiplied with a few thousands, turns into crores!! Now, doesnt that seem interesting :).

All want Exp ppl only
by sudhir rao on Feb 24, 2007 01:48 PM

No one want freshers, all companies say they want ppl with exp only if nobody is giving chance what should these poor freshers do though they have the same knowledge as exp guy. So naturally they fake it and companies hire them.
