I think
by Yadnya Tulapurkar on Feb 08, 2007 10:59 PM  | Hide replies

The whole concept of being single (out of choice or being forced upon an individual) has to be looked at in a different perspective with more open mind, rather than carrying the baggage of yesteryears. There is nothing wrong in being single and the society should be sensitised towards it. You cannot shun the society after a limit 'cos being single makes one more responsible.

your modesty moves me...true delhiites are bewakoo and men in your city are primitive beasts...but in our mumbai are also more or less the same...you know indian men will never leave their mothers' palloo and view a woman as a human being rather than an object with an alternate genital

I think a single women is a tree without leaves and fruits. Only a wooden log standing on the side of the road on which every body stairs but no likes to be associated with it in any sense

You compare a woman to a tree without leaves and fruits. let us see what you would compare a single man to. Lets see something that everyone can associate with... yes right a pig like you... Try to think about it from a woman's perspective and not from you macho perspective... things might change.. you are the landlord who was on the bed cos that was a single lady... if she were your daughter she would be home by 6.. but somebody's daughter who cares right

(over)protect the women you are related to, get dirty with her is you are not related to her.
yeah she shud not hv called men pigs, all animals except humans are innocent! animals never rape their own kind. they are responsible for themselves and mind their business, unlike humans, men in particular(read; the landlord in this story)

Marry and run the risk of getting stuck with moronic men who must be pampered and pandered to. God spare us!! Truth is, it's difficult to find a man worth marrying, more likely to run into Exhibit A- vijendra kapur

Women should never be single. Before marriage they should be protected by father, after marriage by husband and in old age by son.

they should not live single

True, in the good old days we needed men to do the hunting and bonk the odd wild animal over the head for us, now of course we've got pepper sprays and our own bank accounts, and we've managed this in spite of the tireless and infuriating protection from all the fathers, husbands and sons ;)

there is no doubt that both men and women have to live seperately at some part of their young life ... mite me in school or college or work. phycologically, its gives them a sense of responsibility. but the fact is that there are lots of crimes esp against women. so before a women starts to live seperately, she should make all preparations like learning self defense and safety factors. then enjoy independant life !!!!!! ( its the same for males too ... nothing wrong in learning self defense and safety factors)

The dilemma is worse because of some pathetic, lazy, lecherous, beastly men who still inhabit our society (like the landlord in the story), and have nothing to do.

They need to stop gossiping, do some serious work (or hobby) and get a life. Leave the ladies alone!
