Biased Point of View wherein the Author leaves out material facts

The author failed to highlight one of the biggest talking points.
The chances of clearing CA vs the chances of getting into a Top 10 MBA Institute.
As for the current industry scenario, I believe CA is a better base than MBA on which to build upon further. Frankly MBAs lack the knowledge - straight, square and fair. The shine and glamour and confidence will only take you so far.
Also MBAs specialize in a particular field, but a CA is an expert in Accounting, Auditing, Corporate Laws, Direct and Indirect Taxation and has almost expert level knowledge of Financial Management and Cost Accounting.
Compare that to a MBA and they seem to have at best slightly more than working knowledge of the subject they specialize in.
All in all, the simple barometer of which field to choose is this
Can you do CA? If yes, then obviously attempt to be a CA, if not, then MBA is a decent, almost equally good alternative.
But we all know who is better.
Would also like to add, not all CAs are the ones draped in thick glasses wearing ill fitting blazers with receding hairlines. And not all MBAs are suave people who could convince you to do anything.
I have hired CAs for upto 70,000 pm in my office, I have also hired CAs for just 20,000 pm in my office.
Also, i have hired MBAs for 4,000 pm in my office and I have hired an MBA for 50,000 pm in my office.
The statements the author made boil down to individual capacity.
Would like to conclude with - CAs are better, but then again, not everyone can be one!

MBAs - Window-Dressing of Salary figure
by raja tripathy on Jan 26, 2015 05:41 AM

MBA is not a Primary Course as of now (Top B-School) unlike B-Tech & CA, but a Post-qualification course in most of the cases. Most of those doing MBAs from top B-School are Engineers (around 90%) and Experienced Candidate. If you talk about Placement figure, these are all window-dressing figure as there is no disclosure of increment salary figure in case of experience candidate. In some cases, even experienced engineering candidate landed in lesser salary than they used to get. It is only marketing strategy to fool them through salary figure.

PROUD TO BE A CA
by aneesps on Jun 10, 2013 01:11 PM

CA is both tougher , brighter ,smarter and BETTER than MBA in all phases.Wearing coat and suit and sitting infront a laptop in classrooms is never a symbol of smartness, any one can do that.ICAI has never simply get pass out a ca student like most of the university and other national level examinations.SEE THE IMAGE AND STATUS OF A CA THAN A MBA HOLDER among public. you can trying the maximum to upholding the status of an mba holder but fails , only because of the quality of education provided by the both of the institutes. one hardworks for years but other for only 2 years. and onother thing is all the mba holders never reach ceo position instantly after their coures. but ALL CAS HAVE ELIGIBLE FOR CFO. one of the important quality of a profession is entry restriction, this is not satisfied many of the professional courses in india. IF YOU DONT AGREE WITH ME........... YOU CAN SIMPLY ASK TO THE PUBLIC WHO IS BETTER CA OR MBA........... PROUD TO BE A CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT
