Can you also please elaborate on the difference between the pronounciation of the consonants - v and w.
I am often at pains to describe this difference to my colleagues and friends who usually pronounce v as w. Some do not even have a 'w' sound but (rather common in the South) replace is with an 'o' altogether.

Fake English accent

I very strongly feel that people who work in BPO's or even Indians who go to work or study abroad need not put a fake english accent since most foreigners understand our english when spoken clearly and slowly.
I have been in Ireland for the past 8 months and I feel that my english is understood easily by people here and I have not made any effort to put on an accent. The only thing I have noticed is that we should be clear and slow in what we convey.

to all people in bpo
i must apppreciate your hardwork and dedication to serve people of these countries who dont even speak proper english.
for example if you have customer from yorkshire he will pronounce bus as boos.water bottle as water booole.so u can understand.
its people here who have difficulty understanding real true english
so dont worry if somebody mocks you, because they are mocking themselves

I'm surprised that there are people who are appreciating the 'hardwork' put in by university educated young people in India. These chaps sitting in call centres are losing even their identity! I suppose this is what the government subsidised their education for!
