This is another money making corruption from the tax department. Unless you are employee receiving regular predictable income, in many cases your income is not predictable. What if you dont have a major part of the income falls in the last financial week of the year. What if you sell shares on later part of the financial year and immediately pay the advance tax after the sale. Still you end up paying the fine because you missed September 15.
The whole advance tax system deserves to be scrapped. Of course with government using your tax money for scam after scam, and tax payer not being part of major vote bank, legalized corruption by the income tax department will prevail
