My god what's happening to the kingdom! The wealth of our India in 1600s, which was equal to the wealth of the entire friggin Europe, you took it all for 300 years!, but seems like you can't live on your own for 50 years! Kingdom is on the way down??
I have recently successfully completed research at Nuffield Department of Surgery, Oxford University. I am currently writing thesis towards an MD. Oxford University would not accept thesis from foreign graduates towards an MD. This has forced me to register with another UK university. Although I have spent more than 2 yrs at Oxford University my doctorate will be from another university!!! I do not understand this policy of Oxford University. This is far from encouraging for Indian graduates.
The UK government needs to lower visa fees for students already in the country. Any effort on the part of the university to keep talented students on to continue studies will be a waste of time otherwise. I am appalled that the Home Office directive on increasing visa fees for overseas students has been slipped under the net with no information or consultation. Who wants to spend a months budget on staying in a country whose government patently sees Indian and other overseas students as easy cash cows?
now that IIt is well renowned all over he world "young Indian Students" should start believing in the indian educational system. I hink its high time that Institutes to be build in India should be well renowned. It is actally a great pleasure to tell the world that in 100 million population strength India has managed to educate atleast 70% of the crowd most of the talent of this run way abroad. i think its actually payback time the day when we finish our studies and should "if needed" iomprove and spread awareness of education everywhere
My question to you is... we have all the universities vying for the Indian Student. The primary reason most of them tell.. is that they want to expand their Universities reach...blah blah...its endless. The real reason according to me is they are not able to find suitable no. of candidates to fill the seats. You can verify as a separate exercise the difference in fees that the overseas student has to pay over the local student. The difference is not justified by better teaching.
We Indians as usual think the overseas qualification as the be all and end all of higher studies. You may very well ask who am i to tell this sort of 'Bhashan". Its not me, my brother did his MSc in the University of Essex. He passed out with distinction. Sadly for him, wherever he approached to do his further studies (be it Phd) or search for a job.. the unwritten requirement was the candidate should either be from UK or the Eurozone.
If this is what it boils to what is the point of spending a fortune in your studies when the opportunities are not there or to word it better, the opportunities are not given.
