Stock Market returns

It is an excellent article. It clarifies the meaning of "returns" as advertised by most funds and "advisors / consultants" , without mincing words.
My only wish is that the investing public reads this and understands.
Wish we get more such articles from this writer.
In case it is possible I would like to write to her and would request if it is possible for you to share her email.

There was nothing new in this article. it is for obvious that past trends are not the only criteria to predict the future prices. though the examples stated are worthy. a thorough fundamental analysis is necessary before investing in a particular stock. but many investors either fail to do that or do not want to do that as it consumes lot of time. most of them just go by technical aspects, i.e. past trends.

Informative & interesting article

Hi Dr Uma

It was nice to read your article. I think it's a nice reality check for the fund managers who boast of wonderful performance as well as retail investors who think they now know all about the stock market.

One the one hand, investors look for better returns that bank interest only. But on the other hand, they turn greedy and looks for 40% returns too. Stock market as well as fund managers just cash in this greed without appraising the investor of the real risk.

Cheers
