Dalhousie is a fantastic place.when you plan to visit dalhousie stay atleast 2 days in khajihar its awesome. chamba etc theses places can be visited in a day. In chamba don't forget to visit the Bhulwani Mata which most taxi wala's will skip. for stay always trust the HP tourism guest houses as these are located at the best locations with good & moderate facilities (dalhousie=Manimahesh, HPTDC hotels in khajihar has splendid view.)

Hi
I too am planning to heading for Dalhousie next week but we will be going to Manali first and from Manali by surface transport to Dalhousie.
From New Delhi, there are buses for Dalhousie run by state transport.
you can also take train till Pathankot and then it is around 2 hours drive from Pathankot. there are buses plying from Pathankot to Dalhousie (80 Kms.)
I wish to share our wonderful moments spent in Dalhousi and nearby locations. Dalhousi is of course very beautiful, but not to miss, is Khajiyaar...it is like heaven. It is so beautiful with pine trees surrounding a greeeeen ground ... with a small lake in the centre. When we went ...it wasdrizzling... the trees and the colour of grass was lush green... clouds were playing hide n seek with us.... surely it was heaven.
I had been there for my Honeymoon in 2003, and really it was really worth that. A very Romantic place. We stayed there in Alps Resort that has a nice view. Walk from Resort till down hill and then from GPO to Subash Chowk, Gandhi Chowk is something one should never miss. The way to Panjpula has a real beauty. In Panjpula near Statue of Sr. Ajit Singh (Sr. Bhagat Singh's Uncle) there is very Romantic Waterfall in Mountains.
I must say my hubby has a great choice! Thats the place where one thinks only about Love.
Hi Seema, Just read about your article about Dalhousie. It was a nice article. Detailed enough. However there is a photograph displayed in that article with a lake and snow mountains on the back ground. Please tell me where exactly you shot this photograph in Dalhousie and in what season.
