Dont blame Bangalore
by Jay on Jul 30, 2006 03:06 PM  | Hide replies

These incidents can happen anywhere so why blame Bangalore. Youngsters are full of violence and sex in their minds due to stressful lives, films etc. Women have more freedom and are on par with men which also make them arrogant but they should always note that they belong to the weaker sex and can always be exploited..The best option for them is to learn Kung fu/ Karate/ Taekwondo and take on the males who trouble them!!!!..This is the best long term solution to them

Women are safe working in Call centres
by Shruthi on Jul 27, 2006 05:20 PM

I work for a leading Callcentre/Bpo In Bangalore.
The safety of women is the priority now in almost every comapny now. The drivers hired are 1st ref checked by the police and then hired. we cannot single out cases and assume that call centres are not safe for women. There is specific teams like SHIT(sexual harrasment in team) which supports and ensures women saftey. Even the management do their best to protect their employees. Dress code is something that has become a compulsion in every comany to avoid any further problems.
It is now in the hands of we women to ensure safty measures for ourselves. We just need to be more alert and not get involved in anything that could lead to a diaster.

Are call centres in general safe for women to work at?
by Kailash Singh on Jul 27, 2006 05:07 PM

No, I think females memebers should leave offices early because late sitting may cause some serious problem to them. All call centre should appoint boys for night work.

Both male and females are working in this industry. Why only woman in general facing this kind of problems. Because just being a woman. so the best advice is the working shift pattern must change to tolarate the violent and unreasonable mad society which we are living with. how about 9-5 jobs or staying over night facilities at the call centres so they can leave at reasonable time to reach their distination. Precaution is better than cure. Best of luck to all employees at the call centres.

what you are suggesting is a temporary measure.
something more substantial has to be done about it.
women cant keep hiding in their homes at night.

Depends on the women!!!
by dhirendra on Jul 27, 2006 04:03 PM  | Hide replies

First of all it depend on the women. The women used to wear revealling dresses which will attarct unwanted attention. They should not forget that they are not coming to the party, they are coming to work. There are certain ethics in working enviornment which should be followed strictly.
