Dear Sir, I am cetral government employee. All income taxs has been deducted as per rule. But I could not file the return before 31 July due to my urgent work. Can I file it now and where. If I am permitted to file, is there any panelty? Thanks

I don't know why Chidambaram is focussing only on the salaried class!! Has he ever been in the middle class / upper middle class band? Never! Why can't he tax dividends - atleast something like if the dividends cross 10 Crore - a 10% tax will be levied. There are people who are stuggling to move towards a comfortable life and there are people who walk away tax free with crores of rupees as dividends and there are businessmen who are smarter than FM who evade tax comfortably - When is this going to change?
No doubt the last date is 31/07 every year. However, for the last 5 years, it was extended upto 31/10 invariably. How do we know it wont be similarly extended this year again ? --RAMSAY JAMES MUMBAI
if ones taxable income is, say around 90000/- for 2005-2006,and if he is having a PAN card.then is it necessary to file IT returns before 31st july 2006.
I,m geting 22000/- app. per month, deduction is as follws 1- PF 1600/- pm 2-Housin Loan Repayment 3680/- pm 3- Intt. on H/Loan 4200/- pm 4- LIC Premium 38000/ per year On the basis as above please tell me how much Income Tax will I have to pay
