Who is rookie fund investor?

Sir,

I am really confused on reading so many articles in this section. In one article, someone advised us that SIP in bull market is not worthy where in another article, someone suggests not to time the market. Please keep on investing equal amount in every month. Recently one analyst has recommended me not to be involved in HDFC TOP 200 through SIP because now its NAV is too high to get rather its better to opt for SIP to SBI Blue chip fund. At the same time, you always drive the point home not to invest to any new fund.
Hope you understand my dilemma. Please give me the total synopsis what I should do.

Regards,
Arindam Mukherjee

The first thing I want to tell you is, in the future, do not listen to the person who told you not to invest in HDFC Top200 becasue its NAV is high and go for the new fund whose NAV is low. This person's FUND/INVESTMENT fundamentals are ALL WRONG. what has NAV to do with returns. Even if the NAV is high but the fund gives good returns, your money will increase as compared to a fund with a low NAV but bad returns. If both the funds give same returns, then your invested amount will increase by the same percent. IT HAS GOT NO RELATION TO THE NAV OF THE FUND!!. you can verify this with some basic mathematics.
