career planning after MBA
by Shekhar Suman on Jun 01, 2010 12:40 AM

I am an electronics and communications engineer. Got a general MBA degree thereafter. Two years ago i started working with an engineering company which sells equipments like textile machinery, mining and construction equipment and material handling equipment. However my role was a strategy support role.
Now, after working for 2 years in this role I feel like i have hit a dead end. since I don't want to go into sales. And I don't see any opportunity to grow in this company.
I want to know what sector should i target for planning my career. What role i can fit into, with my engineering degree and general MBA degree.

MBA after Masters
by Guest on Oct 03, 2008 02:04 AM

Hi Karan,

GMAT: 720

I have dual masters (Commerce and Finance), I have worked with citi, JP Morgan and Bank of America in three field Credit risk, Equity reserach and IB respectively. Do you think my dual masters and my change of 3 jobs in a span of 5 years will work against me? Colleges I am thinking about are Cornell, Insead, Yale, Chicago, Stern, Columbia, and Tuck.. Also to add to the misery becasue of restructuring my company has again moved me to Equity research. Do you think I stand a chance in any of the above colleges? If not then what should I do if I am keen on joining only one of the above colleges? thanks
