I began swimming in May 2006 and doing it helped me cut a lot of flab. But I got bored of swimming after about 30 days. In May and June 2006 I stopped swimming and took up brisk walking for 50-60 minutes everyday. It also helped me almost as much as swimming did and by the first week of July, I was raring to go back to the pool. I have realized that one shouldn't continue a particular regimen for too long as the body begins to respond less to those set of exercises as it becomes a routine. A newer exercise helps regain the momentum and kills the boredom.
