As a Businessman for 17 years myself (Closed my show about 5 years back because of cut throat competition) my opinion on businessman is that the person(s) entering into business are 3 types: (when I started my business in 1983 I was only one in Southern States now more than 20 mfrs in the field)
1. Highly / Low Qualification for the job market; 2. Family Business in their blood; 3. Misguided by others or accidentally enters without their knowledge.
For running business you need 3 things:
1. Right Product; 2. Right Place; 3. Right Timing. (You call it also luck- cause nobody knows even No1. MBA cannot predict)
For successful Business you need:
1. 200% alertness around you; 2. 200% Product knowledge Normally all the supplier sells his products with lots of Sales Gimmicks. Once sold to your customer, then the products become your baby. 3. 200% multi-skilled person (need technical, administration, finance in short like a Superman).
Wrong Myths:
1. All businessmen are rich & famous. There are lot of vendors are in the street. Each one is a businessman. Can you call them as Rich & famous? 2. Enjoys Flexi timings. Not true. 24 hours attention is req
Good Luck to Suraj and Arjun and all such budding entrepreneurs who do not mind taking the risk to achieve something that they believe in. Great things have happened from such initiatives. When we as an individual and a society can go beyond our comfort and security great things can happen.
