Patnitop and Sanasar

Hi all

This place is really blessed with scenic beauty which people may feel enchanting at first glance. As being a localite of jammu city, I would advise people to keep in cosideration these points while planning a trip to patnitop/sanasar.
1. Reach jammu by train or by air.
2. If intrested in maa vaishno darshan, hire a cab to katra and board a room at katra, take rest and plan for uphill climb to shrine in the evening and comeback by next morning. take rest at katra and start travelling towards Patnitop.
3. On the way to patnitop, make sure you have your lunch at KUD along with famous 'patisa', there is small water well called 'bowli' in local lingo, the water is so rich that you will feel hungry soon :).
4.Reach Patnitop directly and book a hut there as it will be convinient there.
5.You can enjoy patnitop and also plan a day outing at sanasar and nathatop.
6.In winters you can also enjoy winter sports, but it will be too cold, so come prepared.
7. Atfter coming back to jammu, you can visit temples of Shri raghunath and Shri ranbireshvar. For your information, jammu is known as city of temples.
8. if time permits, you can book a cab to Mansar lake and enjoy its beauty.

Amit

Been to Sanasar and Patnitop
by Arunodhay Koul on Aug 03, 2006 01:50 PM

Hi,
I have been to Sanasar as well as Patnitop in the year 1998. As written by Ms. Iyer it is real beauty. Not much of the people come there and it is not know much as compared to Patnitop.
I am from Jammu and kashmir only and it was surprise to me when someone suggested to go to Sanasar and told us to stay there. It might have changed from that time a lot but it worth going and see the beauty. It is really nice to take cottage or room at JKTDC hotels as this is the only thing you get at Sanasar. While as Patnitop you have everything.
Patnitop you can stay at Cottages as well as Hotels. Actually it was after so nearly 9 years i had seen kashmir beauty and i missed a lot about kashmir.
It was nice experience to go to these places. Will surely go sometime in future. Hope that the place will be same as it is today for quite holiday.

Avoid night stay

I have been to sanasar many times with my family. It is a fantastic place to visit but I would still suggest that one should avoid overnight stay there for the lack of facilities and security.
You can leave from Patnitop early morning and be back in evening. You can enjoy like this there for as many days as you like.
