Hi, It's a very educative piece for people who want to make an impression in their chosen careers through effective presentations every time they make one. It tackles a basic aspect in developing presentation skills - that of strengthening the ability to think conceptually, logically, clearly and convincingly. Once we are aware what the core issue is about, and what the central and peripheral issues about, we should be able to recognize those issues we should deal with or focus on and those which we can leave out. Also, providing for and thinking about all issues related to the core issue, also gives us enough reserve power to keep in the background, to be used if needed - such as when a questioner raises an issue and you have already gone an answer for it. And the audience loves you for it - for your knowledge, for your confidence, for your elan!

Nice article, very useful too, for all those who want to use it and try it out!

M. Shankar.

Mind mapping : Freeware tools
by SG NAir on Oct 05, 2005 09:42 AM

I must compliment the author for a well written article, which would have instilled confidence in many minds as regards making presentations! It may be of interest to all those who are new to mind-mapping that there are a couple of excellent tools (freeware) available which will aid in quick and easy creation of mind-maps.
1.MindMan
2.Freemind
(Do a Google on "mindman +download" and "freemind +download" to reach the download sites).
I have been using both for the last two years and I must say that these are two wonderful tools to carry out mind-mapping, a very productive technique!

hello puja

i am technial consultant doing presentations to various target audiance. presentation is an art. three things i look for before presentation is

1. scope of presentation.
2. time.
3. mental level of audiance.

my presentations are technical and most of them are available in books. my emphasis will be to give prctical examples to explain a concept.during presentation i will pause and ask very simple questions to make the crowd interested and lively.
finally like singing it is only practice .i continuosly search both books and web to form my own way to present.

Free software for mind-mapping
by Sreepal Warrier on Sep 30, 2005 03:06 PM

The author has tried to cover all aspects of mind-mapping in this well written article, but has missed out on an important one:-

There are very good mind-mapping software available, which can be freely downloaded from the Internet. These make mind-mapping a truly wonderful & productive experience! (I have been using the following - MindMan & FreeMind - for the last couple of years).
