Tax on Shares
by SB on Sep 26, 2005 09:41 AM

Hi,
I work for a US based MNC, in its Bangalore subsidiary. I have been given some company stocks as grants. if I now sell these stocks (that have crossed the vesting period), I would get the difference amount between the grant price and the current price. My query is how will this be taxed? Out of the stocks I plan to sell, half of them have crossed one year after the vesting period got over, while the rest are less than one year old (after vesting).
