Well here ,we have two nostalgia's competing in the reviewed note of Roy's essay on Seth's memoirs of his Uncle Shanti and his shared life with global humanity from Berlin, Italy's war yrs. and later life in London.. All this is fine multi-culturalism the eminent grice of Neo-liberal World Angst articulated perhaps in the best traditions bastardised culture of Indian Wogs,so brought to perfection in the authorship of Vikram Seth and his Golden Gate odyssey..I wish Seth's formidable word-crafting had some India's flavour as well....D.Goel
