A thought provoking article for Niche-MBA aspirants
by Dr. Ashish Urkude on Nov 30, 2005 12:07 PM

Excellent. It is an article, which is not only thought provoking for them who wish to pursue special MBA but also for those who are trying to make a mark in their life.
Career is something else but building successful life after MBA is something else.
The difference in MBA education lies in is here.
Many schools make learning, unlearning and teaching and research efforts for MBA education but the way/s it is taught and the way/s the students are groomed and molded at HBS, Wharton, IIMA, Kellogg, and such top brass institutes makes the difference in the world all together.

Indian and US MBA's are different
by Priya on Oct 10, 2005 07:49 PM  | Hide replies

I ll slightly modify the subject, the MBA's may or may not b different as I m yet to experience it but as far as I think, the difference lies in the mantality of students, Indians on one hand want to grap the degrees before starting working and as in US, ppl work first, get to know abt the condition, abt their propspects, increments, etc before studing for an MBA. ISB for example have adopted the US kinda structure.. correct me if i m wrong...

I would disgree with you on that. Its not the mentality of indian students but the combined effect of environment and circumstances. In india, I cant expect to earn a decent salary unless i have the B.E.+ MBA combo. Abroad, I can earn enough even as a B.E. so MBA is not a priority after graduation. Additionally, the students in UK have student loans to repay after undergraduation (something which our parents pay for us in india). Therefore their priorities are different and they tend to work to repay the undergraduation loan before commencing on a postgraduation. But I would definitely agree that you can appreciate MBA more after you have had some experience.
