US Visa

Agree with Mr. Amol Thosar. Experience shows that chances of your visa being approved or rejected depends on the whims and fancies of the officials at the consulate rather than the merit of your application.

There are ample stories of visas being rejected for no apparent reason. Candidates get dismissed in less than a minute without being given any opportunity to present their case.

Hope this will be looked into and visa processing will be less prejudiced in future.

Good change but will this work too....
by Sandeep Kumar on Oct 06, 2005 10:32 AM

Its a good change in the system of issuing student visas. But i wonder even this will work or not as the US consulate is notorious for rejecting the visa application without giving appropriate reason for several times to a particular student. All i can say is wait and watch for the results.

This seems good as long as the VISA officers won't reject anybody for some stupid reasons, which could be justified only by them.

What actually needs to be done is to understand the requirement clearly & process should be implemented to match the aspirations of candidates with the requirements. This way the Rejection rate would get substantially reduced.

Another fact that Indians are not slaves but mere applicants seeking better opportunity, should be drilled in the minds of the chaps working at the counters. Moreover the staff at Madras consulate should be given some format training in human behaviour. Many a time, they are more arrogant than the US officers and treat their own countrymen like beggars. Just look at the Mumbai folks mate & you would know what professionalism is!

Regards,
Amol.

2 days wait time is very incovinient.

This is ridiculous.

Outsiders to Mumbai have to wait for 2 days in Mumbai to get Visa appointment??

I dont agree

The new process creates more hassle than earlier especially for people you are not native to the cities where HDFC bank is located to pay the fees.
So people outsiders to the designated 32 HDFC banks locations have to travel to that place and then wait for 2 days either at that place so that reciept gets activated and then only they can make the appointment. This is ridiculous.
