Sethjis....
by Aishwarya on Dec 14, 2006 12:04 PM

Even i hv been to sethjis couple of times and had the mini meals (4 rotis, some veg curry and curd) and of course relished some of d parathas too...I think it was quite good. Infact, to b frank it was better than the same parathas i had in Bangalore central - top floor - some punjabi point - same price...So if u r a working man/woman close to sethjis, i wud recommend it.

Sethji Homemade Foods Reality : Far from truth
by Shivnarayan Varma on Nov 11, 2005 12:56 PM

Hi Gayatri,

What u told about Shethaji food is far away from ground realities.

In fact behavior of the owner is very rude and harse. Service not is at all customer friendly.

Just recently I find a piece of broken glass in paratha. When complained to owner, She replied in very rude manner rather than correcting her mistake.

As well cost of food is very very much on higher side( not for common man ), affordable only for rich peoples. As well as price is not at all worth for quality of food they offers.

If u really want to taste good quality paratha's ,just drop in Kanti sweets located in CMH road.

Paintings of Mr. Tilak Seth Talab which mostly consist of nude/semi nude sketches of woman's. Is this we call creativity?.

Only thing which we can call good is ambience.

Regards,
Shiv

bobby da dhaba
by abhijeet on Nov 11, 2005 11:57 AM

hey,
you can try bobby da dhaba, near ulsoor gurudwara near taj residency. It's only veg to start with, good news for veggies, cause rare to find pure veg dhaba ( know bad news for non-veggies)
but its much more worth it. if u reach there around 9 in evening u will know how popular that place is ...

Sethji's is good?!!!! No way!!!!
by Sathya on Nov 11, 2005 09:13 AM

I know tastes differ, but this is a good example of how much it can differ! I lived in Bangalore very near to Sethji's cafe for a few months, and the food was absolutely tasteless, bland and over-priced, to put it mildly! While the art display outside is just about ok, the ambience is nothing but that of a mediocre cafe, and I've had better aaloo-parathas even in my college mess(and you all know how most college mess food is!).

Maybe the critic went to Sethji's on a date with someone special who made the moment feel so beautiful that even the tasteless fare that was served there seemed delicious to her. :-)

Anyways, if you want to blow up 30 bucks on below-average fare, visit the place.
