I hope this guy didn't work "part-time" IN ADDITION to his assistantship, alongside his degree. Students on an F-1 visa are not legally allowed to work outside campus.
Gr8 idea to start a stories section which can really motivate young guys who want to do something in life. but a request from my side. Can we get the contact number or the emails id's of these achievers( with there due permission). I mean these people can really motivate u.
One should be very fiem in difining the acheivement. I feel any thing creative done is acheivement. Money is very secondary and has no value at the long run to take pride of. This wis wrong with the (Indian) Society progress very fast and too soon and mostly in wrong direction!

Greed is what drives a nation, and the world. Greed is a very important component for progress and growth of mankind. Its the biggest motivation of all. If it wasnt for greed we still might be living in caves. Think about the computer and internet u r using to read this message. If nobody was greedy enough to built computers and make money out of it, we wouldnt be chatting with each other like this today!
hi, I do not know how true all these stories are. Most of them say they perform very poorly in high school and still make it to engineering and M.S/MBA. First of all no school will give an admit unless you are first class or distinction in undergrad. I presume that most of these guys have it. Secondly most of them are loaded with 8-10 lakhs as most of US schools do not pay for the first year tuition. And if uhave thatmoney you can even buy your degree in UK in one year. So i do not believe that its difficult to build your career if you are loaded with money and you have some base to build on. The real success is when you do not have any financial base and stil you make it in life. That is an achievement. So do not give the stories of guys who are born with silver spoon in mouth and make it big in life. Its no big deaal. Any tom , dic and harry can do that.

From your message it looks like u r a poor guy! Looks like you are even pissed with people with silver spoon. But I dont know what gave you the idea that I was born with a silver spoon? I never said I had money or my father is rich man (though I am making him a rich man now). My father had to encash his PPF early to send me to states which i repaid him as soon as I got an assistantship. I also repaid him the money he spend on flight tickets and other expenses after 2 years. If you have a grudge against people with more money than you then use that energy to make more money (if thats what you want). But when you make more money you will always find someone else who makes more than you. And the cycle continues. So either you can sit and cry and complain about it for the rest of your life or keep working on closing the gap. maybe you already are, just have to stop crying about it.

Ya even I agree a person who is born in a rich background can buy degrees as we see in this present scenario of education business.you should publish stories about achievers who have really come up with so many struggles and not about these easy achievers..
grt idea to showcase these achievers. For many of us sitting like a cat on the wall it helps us to realise we can still make it big. Prob this is what the president meant when he said in his book that the media needs to celebrate our successes rather than our failures
