Mediclaim Reimbursement
by shyamal gupta on Jan 12, 2014 07:24 AM

Against my Mediclaim policy I spent Rs 24000 for my wife's eye surgery and got reimbursed later by the insurance company. Do I need to show this in my IT Return? If yes where? And how to claim deduction?

Medical reimbursement

if the company is holding the amount and paid at the ehd of the year, then the employee will be losing the intrest paid by the bank, if the amount is in his account. there by he is loosing the income. will this not be cocnsidered . say if i am getting aroung 30000 as medical allwance, then 30000/12= 2500. on 2500 i wil lget the interest of the bank at 6% 2500 * 6%* 1/12=12.5. will be loosing the intrest. please advice if this allows in internal audit, as company is getting other income on the employees salary.
