by ALARK SINGH on Feb 07, 2012 10:51 PM

Sir,
Being NRI or having NRI status for the financial year, can a person contribute to the PPF premium. If not will not paying the annual contribution/premium will not result in PPF being stopped.

Please advise.

As per the rule, there should be a MINIMUM investment of Rs 500 in the financial year towards the PPF. Pls check with the bank / PO in which PPF is held.

Mr Singha,
You have got interest of 933 only as it is calculated for Feb Mar of 2010 (financial years ends 31-March of each year). So for you to have reater interests try desposoting the PPF contribution on any date in April, this will help.
