This article is very useful but needs to be updated with latest developments and republished, since there have been many changes in the rules. Also, I find that if there is an oversubscription in the retail category, all who apply for shares at or over the discovered price, do not get proportionate allotment in the manner mentioned in this article. Lots are drawn here too and many dont get any share even if they apply for a large no. Shouldnt all get allotment of some shares, as long as the minimum allotment on proportionate basis works out to not less than 1 share? Would the author please explain the reasons for drawing lots in these cases ?
