Regarding Tax saving

Hi i m working out of india as NRI i want to invest my money in fix deposites around (INR 20 Lac) Please let me know how i can save tax from FD income i dont hv any other incom in india . Please give me ur suggestion.

Present Investment:

Pls suggest whr to invest more if require

I am a salaried person. My salary is Rs.16000.- p.m. I pay Rs.5000/p,m. for Provident fund.Rs.1260/- p.m. for LIC and Rs.2600 for HBA. What shoule be my income tax. I want to learn how it is claculated at present...especially the 1 lakh limit.

Sir,
Suppose my salary is 2.5 lakh for 2004-05 year. As per new rules tax calculated will be 25,000/-.
My query is that now, how much of amount out of 25,000/- income tax can be saved and what would be the investment amount and where has be invested.
