BPO: Be Polite & Organized
by RAVI on Dec 23, 2005 06:00 PM

It might really seem like the foreigners are invading the indian land, but this time i really feel they are doin it for good.BPOs make young budding intellects polite, organized and gives thema orientation to service, which is the core function of any organization since "customer" comes first.Good service is what drives or rather pulls people to your brand.Every individual should have a experience in a BPO to nourish his soft, computer, networking and patience building skills.Remember BPO is and should be a valid "work experience".

English,English and English not even the common manus and his 'angrezi'.Be honest and tell the world that you are selling 'your' product to the more privileged sections of society.BPO a GREAT future? No mam,it is NOT the future, but PRESENT only.By the time the 'present' ceases, we will have a few party-going,letting your 'hair-down' Saturday-night outers, bereft of any ACTUAL knowledge of what the country needs, but very aware of perhaps a 'white-mans' credit card balance( a new white mans burden?),if he has appendicitis or maybe more contagious diseases etc etc.The poor will be poor, the new 'BPO enabled' rich will become an outcaste in his own country, since his or her behaviour will be an extension of the persons whom they have 'serviced'over telelines.Go to the village, and educate THEM to speak,in whatever accent you desire,in whatever language you can, but please dont say that BPO is going to be the future lifeline of India.Yes if you say the technology of Wipro or Infosys, I can agree. That requires a skill,NOT dependent on speaking ENGLISH only, but real skill of the relevant technology. That is OK.Not what you are emphasing on.

Question
by Hk on Dec 20, 2005 04:36 PM

I am really impressed by the way in which nasha tries to resolve the queries that pop up with the increase in the BPO/KPO's & the massive modification in the trends of the younger generation. My mind is full of questions that r waiting for answers. I have tried to bifurcate the questions in different segemnts.
1) Aren't the Indians working in BPO's unpatriotic ?
2) What if the BPO's close down in a couple of years?
3) What kind of effect does it have on our economy?
&
4) What about the people working in BPO's after they are on the thershold of 50's
