You will find as i did that many people hold themselves out as financial planners when in fact all they will do is look at what you have, and sell you a product. not paying any attention to what you would really like to accomplish, and what your true goals,and values are. As ive found out Investment Advisor = stock broker. At the same time getting a written document from a financial planner that is 300 pages thick, and is in Investment terms is not to helpful either. There is a body I hear, from where people can get advisors who are Registered and genuine. Nowadays, even LIC agents are becoming Advisors and selling policies instead. There should be more transparency in the system and maybe a website where a layman can log on and find details of advisors who are registered.
In reference to your article, whats the point of writing a nice article like that if you'll dont provide information about where people can actually go and approach a financial advisor in the major metros etc.
Live in bangalore....im sure they are here too but who does one contact.?? If someone could enlighten me i would be very grateful. Thanks
