I've heard that there is 85% reservation for Delhites in FMS. Is it really tough for outsiders to get through FMS. What was the cut-off for FMS in 2007.
I m currently studying at an IIM (not Indore or Kozhikode), and am not ashamed of admitting dat had I made it to FMS I would have gone there without thinking twice....! Just imagine.... negligible fee, comparable placements, not forced to live in a hostel (though if u want u can stay in the DU hostel), a small batch dat shares terrific camaraderie, free from an isolated campus (ala the IIMs) ....!
I agree that in sheer quality of students IIMs (at least the big 3/4) are better off as they r in terms of brand value in corporate world.
All in all FMS is no less than any other b-school of the country and they dont need to make zero-logic statements like "WE GET A DEGREE", to prove that.
Placements in FMS , Delhi are on par with IIM A , B and C mainly due to small batch size. While IIMs have 250+ students toplace , they have only 90 students to place which is a very good advantage.Last year average salary was Rs.8.1 lakh.
Again the alumni strength is very strong and FMS , Delhi in fact is the first B school in India started way back in 1954 (IIMs were started in 1965+).
Btw , It has the highest selection ratio of I:400 while for IIMs it is 1:250 odd .

Respected Sir I am Bijit from Meerut ,i am persuing BBA course .After my BBA course i am going to do MBA course ,so will you give me the information about admission procedure and course fee .
I think the article ignores the fact that every yr the top 1 percentile of students who crack CAT prefer the IIMs although it just offers a post graduate diploma. Its not degree/diploma that matters, its just about sheer academic brilliance... and thats were the IIMs score better.
