BPO companies can be shifted
by dhruv mehta on Jan 03, 2005 10:44 PM

What i think is that there is no scarcity of employees, if there is a scarcity of personnels in gujarat, then these companies must think of shifting from that particular state/city to someother state or city where there is ample of human resources with plethora of talent and unimaginable dedication and hard work. One such place is Hyderabad and be assured you would be very happy with the ambiance and facilities of this beautiful cyber city.

Time for BPOs to pay more
by Mahavir on Dec 31, 2004 07:02 PM

Hi,
What I personally feel that what Mitul has overlooked is the package that these BPOs offer. The pay offered is quite less as compared to other places. The chance of growth is definately less but along with this, it also should be kept in mind is that these BPOs are making no efforts to retain or stop these fleeding employes.
The mental stress on the employes is quite high.
So time for better remuneration and better working ethos.

BPO on a-beginning in Gujarat
by Ankit Shah on Dec 30, 2004 06:42 PM

Yes,
Slowly slowly it's getting in Gujarat,
taday more than 60% gujarati proffesionals are working at benglore or hydrabad or other locations like mumbai or pune,
but as IT industry specially software field is growing very fast in Gujarat, so chances for more call centers to open up in vadodara and also in other cities of Gujarat.
But yes the growth will be lesser compare to banglore or Pune due to the resource availability, employees, awareness etc.
If the goverment policies will be focused 100% straight forward towards the growth for IT industry then the ratio may be increased.
Let's hope it will be.

BPO - Is it a mad rush?
========================
Good story from Guj. Let me add few more facts to this story with my eyes wide open.
1) A first class graduate finds it hard to get a job of Rs. 6000/- in other industries whereas in BPO sector even a 12th fail can easliy get Rs. 7000.00, plus pick up - drop facility, a company sponsored credit card facility, ATM - Debit card and much better inputs. Offcourse one can say these guys have right attitude. Those refusing 6000 to science grads may have vice-versa attitude.

2) Well in other industries you need to submit proof of your credentials. In BPO one can join with forged documents at a salary of Rs. 12000 p.m. Well should I reveal the name of this employer.....arrhhhh... you will sure beat me with as you will have digestion problem.
3) Attrition rate is higher.
4) Make good money, prove captive productivity, get cultured, get friends and get fired if you don't perform is the life @ call centre.
Well sometime back a father of the BPO employee was stunned to receive a call from his son...Hello father I am John (his work name) calling from Middlesex..(His suppresses work location).
Good to make fast money, rest is all fine.
