Cabinet : Extension of dynastic rule
by vijaya kumar on May 28, 2009 05:17 PM  | Hide replies

Congress and the media may project cabinet as a mix of experience & youth but in real fact it is extension of the dynasic rule by the congress, just have a look at the so called young brigade, they all are sons and daughters of the ex ministers or ex cheif ministers. Further all congress loyalists whether they are in civil services or in politics, they are rewarded with ministerial berths. It is just an eye wash by the congress and their freinds in media to project congress as party with ethics and concern for youth. No consideration is given to capability. JAI HO CONGRESS AUR ENGLISH MEDIA. As an Indian I am not worried who gets cabinet berths but are we in safe hands, whether we are safe with inaction towards the terrorists and their masters, appeasment policies and corruption at all levels.

And what do you say about Raghavendra, son of Karnataka CM and Manavendra Singh son of Jaswant Singh and Uddhav Thackeray son of Bal Thackeray getting tickets and ruling their party bastions?

Antony should have been PM.
by IndiaToday on May 28, 2009 05:11 PM  | Hide replies

Antony should have been PM.
Antony one of the cleanest politicians in india, from Grassroots ... may were expecting that this time it is his chance to become PM but unfortunately, he was sidelined this time too. MMS being too old and seriously sick, like anjun singh, it is a pity that Sonia and Congress leaders still sticked on to him and sidelined AK antony, a grassroot level politician, un corrupt and above all a person of integrity.

I think it is because of his well known and publicly declared commitment to rationalism and atheism, which made him not acceptable to sonia and others in congress. After all atheism too is part of hiduism and hindu culture and our tradition of tolerance.

I believe that BJP’s six years rule changed the way people perceive central government. People realized their power of vote. People realized that Roads, clean drinking water and electricity are their basic rights and politicians or government should provide them these basic facilities. The realized that development is achieved only through competition, so FDI’s are not bad and nor Privatization is forbidden. People realized that ‘they’ are the nation and their aspiration of becoming strong was quite fulfilled in 1998. The Nuclear Bomb test gave them unique confidence that in case of war, we are quite capable of taking anyone squarely. The firmness, with which BJP leadership dealt with intruders in Kargil, left Pakistani military as well as political leadership searching for honorable exit. Of course, the initial intelligence failure should be investigated critically and harshly. Nonetheless, a strong military and political message is worth applause.

The infrastructure that BJP government built or rather tried to build is definitively a giant stride towards economic independence, which we sought for long time. The golden quadrangle project, whenever completed will certainly herald a new era of prosperity in wider parts of India. The tech sector boom was hallmark of BJP government. The decision of government to not to interfere in the tech boom was one of the best decisions of their tenure.

The list is pretty long.

IR my friend, let go of this BJP propagandist MeeMum. He is being paid some coins to infest such news sites. So let him do his job. If you are irritated, just report him for abuse/ slander/ sexual innuendoes (have you noticed how such people cannot think beyond their crotch? Must have some serious psychological disorders...). Political history knowledge is zero in most people.

The constitution was drafted by a Constituent Assembly lead by Dr Ambedkar. However, the only political party of any consequence then was the Congress. And yes, the credit would go to the political dispensation in place then, which was Congress then. And a liberalist, educated man like Nehru encouraged it, besides promoting discussions to resolve differences instead of shouting and walking out of the Parliament (the signal achievement of the saffron brigades). People like MeeMum are paid to be nasty, so let go. Take it wasy. And laugh at the antics they put up for our benefit! :-)

Congress was out of power from 1996 to 2004 due to poor pool management & arrival of BJP on national scene. The poor media management by BJP & its inability to keep pace with changing demographics brought Congress back in reckoning.Congress takes care of media who eats from their hand while BJP for strange reasons has become a pariah for the media.Politics is now more a game of marketing your achievements than onnecting with grassroots & people fond congress this time more suitable to rule. There is however no such thing as permanent in politics & same people can vote NDA back if they come up with a saleable agenda.
