More Minister doesnot means Fast Development in that State
by S r on May 28, 2009 11:16 AM  | Hide replies

Last couple of Loksabha elections, some state represented large number of ministers, but developments depends upon person to person. For example in TN
1) Previous Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss (PMK party - Caste base politics party) doesn't really done anything to Overall Health sector to India or his state TN. He only action to remove AIIMS President Mr.Venugopal and close down couple of Government Manufacturing plants for Medicine in favour of private parties to enjoy.
2)Previous Shipping Miniter - Balu (DMK) he has done nothing to TN or any other parts of INDIA in Shipping
3) Previous Railway Minister - Lalu even though he done good financially for railways via his Takal scheme (Takal scheme - Good for Agent, TT. Bad for Common people) but for Passenger amenities, security, modernization - Big ZERO. For Bihar he has done very little.

Now Mamta Banerjee of Railways she is more concern to WB CPM than for India. When Trains are burning in Punjab and thousands of passengers stranded at Jammu. She is very cool in giving Rs. 20/- pass for Poor people without any analysis etc. and new train on very first day...

In Gujarat & Bihar even though without the support of Central Govn. these states developing is very faster rate. The Will of Local state government is very important and MP of that state whether he is looking after his state or his pocket.

So List goes on.... This is politics of Great Indian Democracy.

Dear Sir, this 20/- ticket for BPL people will be applicable all over india. These people generally travel without ticket in local trains. It is a motion to bring them into main stream too. This is for your kind information. This has nothing to do with CPM or Bengal.

All most of all young Ministers of MMS selected by Rahul Gandhi are crorepatis and sons or daughters, nephews, of Senior congressmen who where Ministers in the earlier Congress Govt. No body is from a Kissan or poor family. They will do only salvery of Sonia Gandhi dynasty.

Ministerial berths: It's bonanza for Southern states

What is the point of writing this type of articles? To create rift among Indians. Such journalism must be brought under NSA

All these years the north india people were enjoyin g the central govt power. Now that south india is getting is its share these people have started talking about national integrity divide etc.

Where were you when innocent Tamils where massacared(a literal genocide) in thousands. Where were your national unity. Why did not you guyz see them having links with India.

When some students belonging to high profile families were attacked in Australia the English media is literally shut down even the swearing in ceremony.

But Tamils being massacared was only a news among couple of other news. As long as you people do not change your attitude the NOrth/South divide will not be eradicated.

Are we heading towards the rift and create a North india and south india smilar to north and south korea. I condemn this article not only for creating a split in india also because south india have got only one third berths where as north india had got 3/4 which is huge. shoudnt it be 50 50 amoung north and south so that we can divide india as well. Damn with such ridiculous articles.

Agreed. The Media should not divide more on locations, already india is divided on Caste, Religions and politics. Another divide on basis of locations should be avoided. This will support parties like MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena)

Mr Ulhaq when compared to north south is well developed, even in cricket hyderabad, chennai, bangalore has teams and industries, cinema , software, textiles without the help of Indian govt in the past 50 yrs before 1998( no coalition govt ) doing remarkably well. Specifically northindian states like UP, BIHAR didnt grow in the last 60 yrs after giving enormous MPs to congress & BJP. Very sad to say this..

Take the Case of UP. After Congress Govt in 80's (start of VP singh) nothing to tell as development. Once Developed State of UP become undeveloped how.......... ? Wrong policies of BJP, then SP, BSP........ There Agenda is caste politics not on Development.

In Bihar Congress started and Laloo followed corruptions then now Development came via CM Mr, Nitish.

Same thing whether in UP or MP or Bihar or WB............... story is same.

All the East India states will cry for it where is our Cabinet ministers....... all these years our % is in single digits There is nothing North or South or East or West.

Parties must have India development vision.

One I have to mention Hats of to "TIMES OF INDIA" MEDIA House for supporting the development agenda during Elections 2009.

Do not read much into it
by Rama Subramanian on May 28, 2009 09:20 AM

There are so many equations in deciding ministerial berths.
1) Strength and loyalty of allies
2) Demands from allies
3) Regional equations
4) Caste equations
5) Family issues
6) Power politics
7) Recommendations
8) Upcoming elections

etc

It is not only the number of MPs send by the state. Earlier UP used to get a lot by the sheer strength in Loksabha.

State elections are over in AP. so there is only four. otherwise AP might have got more representation.

But more ministers does not more development. it is a mere illusion. Since 1996, TN is heavily represented in Govt.

But the development??????????????

It is injustice to give andhra only four ministers where it gave a power of 33 MPs lone for Congress not for UPA and the highest no of MPs for Congress in entire India. Still it could managed to get only one cabinet minister. Where as DMK gave 18 MPs to UPA able to get 3 cabinet ministers. Andhra congress leaders dont know the blackmail politics. It is shame on part of Congress and CM of AP, YSR.

It's obviously a game in which Dr.YSR is also actively involved, that's why he didn't press for more representation in the cabinet. He doesn't want anybody to become popular too much so that he may have competition at home. And candidates who became MOS are second rung politicians who have to toe the line of YSR and express it outright, 'we are grateful to YSR' and not to the people who voted them to power!!

Since 1996 TN is heavily represented in Govt. But more representation does not bring more development.
Between 84 to 96 except 89-91, TN was totally ignored. No cabinet rank ministers.

But the pace of development is always same.

No need to worry for AP.

It's 33 this time. Next time it will be tough to get even 3 because of the injustice.

I thought Undavalli Arun Kumar and Rayapati Sambasiva Rao (both in the good books of Sonia) would be make it to the Cabinet.

Is it YSR's ploy to scuttle the growth of his fellow Congressmen in the State? Even looking at his own cabinet in the State, one gets a feeling that he is on his way to finish his detractors or those perceived to threaten his seat.

It is so simple. There is a Congress govt. in Andhra. So the Congress MP's can loot the state there itself. No need to come all the way to Delhi to loot.
