Don't forget it was an elction promise and not a real one!
by Kadam on May 26, 2009 03:42 PM  | Hide replies

Next time he may not be there (Replaced by Rahul) and hence he need not worry about his Govts performance. Nor he is answerable to any one.
We are just looking at TV Channels (NDTV, CNN etc) bosting Congress image and trying to sell Congree's image an dRahul's too.
We can;t talk to TV nor approach PM.
So if you want to teach lesson to Congress, we have to wait for 5 years.
They will wake up at the end of 5 years and again promise heaven on earth.
Instead of developing new High ways, let them maintain the existing roads , that itself will be more than sufficient. Moreover the money spent on Road are straightaway land up in Miniters Kitty and not on the common peoples homes.
Look at the money flows in Infra Projects..
First sanction the project and allocate the funds. Then the tenders will be floated and the tender is allocated to those who are affiliated to ruling party. Automatically cut is ensured. It is estimated as per a news paper repo that 60 % of infra money is pocketed by the Mps. MLAs, and down to beuroctas etc. and only 40 % will go to real work.
Mainly the infra projects are machine oriented, and not labour oriented, 25% money will go to Big Companies who provide equipments.
That is the real story.
Then how the economy will develop without the development of individuals in this country?
All eye wash!
Whther 100 days or not, this Govt will survive 5 years easily coz of Secular Card!

Do you know one more trick they play? they plant proxy petitioners (Environmental Terrorists) to oppose any mega Infrastructure project, therby delaying the project, and inflated project cost. I have seen this all.

If you believe the article for a minute...
by Rajagopal Bhat on May 26, 2009 03:41 PM  | Hide replies

I am not supporting or justifying any one party as I am an apolitical person. But I have some points to make and they apply to both the main parties equally. I keep in mind that to move forward, we should bury the dark past.

1. Of course this is not an excuse an all powerful government can offer but Congress hasn't achieved much in the 60 years because they were learning the governance in the first few years. You can evidence this in the Constitution it put in place. (by the way, our constitution is the most amended constitution in the world.)

2. Congress seems to have developed a sense of "better late than never at all". But you can't forget the world class institutions they conceived and built, the decisive war of 1971 and the period of Rajiv Gandhi and Narasimha Rao. That is when several sectors newly opened which till now contributed at least a few hundred billion dollars of FE and domestic product.

3. Congress is responsible/answerable for the killing of Sikhs in 1984 and so is BJP answerable for the post Godhra carnage. Let's not single out a party as both of them are equally at fault at one time or the other and both are equally communal, this everyone acknowledges.

4. BJP has contributed in its own way in the recent post independence era. It has its share of efficient and inefficient team members as does Congress. So it is no better or worse than Congress is.

5. Don't gang up against BJP castigating it as the only communal party.

Good and matured remrks indeed. I feel you are just missing some ore remarks. I can not exactly pin point them but certainly it lacks some thing which is much more important. Yes we should instead of blaming one single party and buttering another party, blame the system and ourself because we are also patr of teh govt an dwe choose it from ourself, So we are main culprits. We should poinnt out weakness of partys instead of blaming them. It should be positive and constructive support not negetaive critiscism.

If BJP is responsible for post Godhra, who is responsible for Pre Godhra? Why no secular parties are raising this issue?
If you defend yourself, it is a crime in India. !

contd....

5. The first thought to strike my mind at this is Nehru's statement to parliament after 1962 war defeat "Not a blade of grass grows there, let them take away Aksai Chin" So, on a scale, if BJP is communal, Congress is traitor.

6. China killed thousands of its own citizens in Tiananman Square, god save us, we will never have such a government here in our country

MOdijee is far more respectable in Gujrat and even in India. Go and see Mr. Redeeff. you believe it or not bu the congi people give respect for own benefit which is chamchagiri- buttering but the BJP leaders earn respect and regards from their people. This is fact what ever you say. Today you people are singing songs of rahul but next day you will bring him down to earth for any of his deed. But it is not like this in BJP. Modi has real earned regards & respect by his good deeds in Gujrat. Even many muslims also respet him for his good deeds. This congress which is defaming him in th enma of Godhra. It is Modiji's greatness he is not dragging these peple in court for dfaming him in public.

The Left's Role
by Venu Parameswaran on May 26, 2009 03:35 PM  | Hide replies

The left had given a constructive support to MMS in his earlier spell. True, they had been very watchful of each steps he had taken and they were guided by their ideology in each such cases. It is always possible to differ with the left. But it certainly cannot be overlooked that theirs was a principled stand. This, coupled with the sagacity and statesmanship of Sonia Gandhi, had been the real strength of the last Ministry. Very soon, this will be realized.

constructive support by Lefts - My foot. Where did you see the constructive suport. The support was for their own benefit only. Did you not see when petrol price was hiked, they cried so much but at last kept mum. On price hikes also the same story. They only cried for their own benefit.

Nation is burning and we are in fighting
by simpleman on May 26, 2009 03:33 PM  | Hide replies

Hello Indians,
Please stop this racial fighting.Time is ripe to be indian first and put the issues of common people in front of govt. There is no urban rural. All need food,Shelter,Cloth, education and employment.
Election is over my friends so as per 60 years of governance(right it's not rule it's governanace;amazingly we are still in democracy)no promises will be kept.Forget those 100 days even in 100 years(if MMS survive that) it cant be better.
1)Food controller board is controlled by some middle man. These people have spent almost 10000 cr in either way(UPA,NDA).Price is risingto settle that bill.
2)Petro lobby already contributed for polling effort!!@ 12000cr.They need to settle it.Already petrol price is 2 Rs higher.
3)What to say about TR Baalu.Roads are not uilt and where roads are there it is teared apart bcoz of Zgrade material.(Although contractors are charging for A grade material)
4)Drinking water project is a complete failure bcoz of nepotism and heavy corruption in water ministry and board(Next civil war will be fought on drinking water issue)Not even 1 paisa of every rupee spent have reached to public.
5)Power situation is in mess.I do not know for whom benefit govt have served while ordering all the equipment readymade from US and France. They can be made here and US,France be a technology partner.Atleast 50000 Jobs can be created and money saved. No promise when we will receive it and power is made available to everybody

The Congress ruled India for almost 50 years and they ruled India as if India is their property. They (Congress) institutionalized the corruption and heralded the divisive caste politics.

There is a need to have faith in ourselves and our judgements without unduly quoting IMF & World Banks. We all know that the world economy is in shambles and if we as a country can work together, may acheive the 9-10% growth as envisaged by Dr.MMS. The key to acheive this is to stop blaming each other and do constructive suggestions
