by Radha Krishnan on May 27, 2009 03:11 PM  | Hide replies

One country one religion is a must for progress. Islamic countries and Christian countries are developed countires because this. Hindus and Hinduisam is only in India. It is better for the progress and prospertiy of India that Indian people should follow one religion Islam or Christanity. Then only India can progress or prosper.

Caste system would have gone, but these POLITICIANS will never allow it to go. After all vote bank and divide and rule is mantra for ruling.
More than relegion, it is caste divide which is hurting Country and it is encouraged by ALL POLITICIANS. They will take this Country to GRAVE one day.

shenoy

democracy is full of pot holes.

so many things to be considered.

so many people to be please/accomodated.

efficiency is bound to be the casualty.

who can be blamed?

instead of finding faults and holes mr shenoy should suggest ways to improve the efficiency.

it is easy to say that the project got delayed.it is difficult to suggest remedies.

may i request mr.shenoy to try and suggest ways to improve the situation?

i am quite sure he will fail and fail misreably.

thts the denoument of all critics.

they find problems/holes/failures/incompetencies/but they fail to give better options.

today india needs creative critics.

can the critics come up to that expectation?

Well said Nirmal. Instead of critisizing, it would do good for the public if TVR give suggestions or recommendation to improve present situation. Transprency is call of the day, and govt should implement e-tendering, with specially dedicated web-site for the public to track progress and follow deadlines. The think tanks in India, should come with tools to stop corruption and malpractices. Regardless of which party is in power, it is mandatory to enforce and cap loopholes in the system, rather than allowing the respective minister to squander and go scott-free !! In a coutry as big as India, one Manmohan Singh will not be able to perform miracles, but we as citizens should contribute to the nation as responsible stake holders.

Improvement is simple but no one will do it.
1. REMOVE ALL RESERVATIONS AT ALL LEVELS.
2.PROVIDE HIGH LEVEL EDUCATION TO DALITS AT GOVT. COST, TILL THEY CLEAR EXAM, THEY SHOULD GET ONE CHANCE OF FAILUIRE IN EXAM ONLY.
3. MAKE JUDICIAL SYSTEM EFFICIENT AND TIME BOUND, BY JUDICIAL REFORM AND RECRUITING MUCH MORE JUDGES. SO THAT CRIMINALS DO NOT GO SCOT FREE AT ANY COST. POOR CAN GET JUSTICE WITH IN RESONABLE TIME.

TOI said and not Manmohan
by venkata chetty on May 27, 2009 01:53 PM

Though I don't have an iota of respect to Manmohan singh, since he made the statement -BJP done sikh riots - to win over Sikhs in his consitituency the only time he contested, please note that, Manmohan never said that.

All Manmohan said in TOI interview is Congress will comeup with Comprehensive plan to revive the Economy in 100 days AS PROMISED ALREADY IN THEIR MANIFESTO. But TOI wrote the Artilcle as you mentioned in the Front Page & kept the Actual interview somewhere inside.

It's a real shame to our Nation that nobody bothered to read interview & learn the actual fact; And a leading newspaper can pullout such a thing of daylight deception; and even good joournos & Lawyers can be fooled.

Its the nature of our system
by vijay patel on May 27, 2009 12:42 PM  | Hide replies

Its the nature of our system that we have to mostly take Ministers from 547 elected representative of the people and if people elect inefficent and criminals that that is the crop we have to harvest and select our minister from that.

Unforutnately there is very limited scope to get ministers from outside who are technocrats and managemeng gurus. How many you can get from RajyaSabha.

Plus when we get one we dont appreciate, instead crtisise for political reason. Look today we have ManMohan Singh, a clean man, a competent man, highly educated man, an economist of repute and hard working. And what does Shenoy do, find holes.

Does BJP eve have any one comparable to the team Congress. Be honest.
