Earlier only MMS was good but he can't to anything against corrupt and criminal ministers around him like TR Balay, Rasa, Maran, Sibu soren etc. Atleast now, Congress should show courage to keep better people in ministry to focus on development aspect. The people proposed by DMK are either from MK family or his close Chamcas. Nobody in DMK is fit for any cabinet ministry. Some new faces in DMK can be given some state ministry.
Why the Congress party is bending backward to accommodate the DMK with their black mailing. Let the Congress show thee door to the DMK and withdraw support to the DMK on whose support the DMK is ruling in Tamil Nadu. Even without the support of DMK the Congress has enough support and can form the Govt.
We all look at the poll results in terms of mere numbers. TMC got 19 and DMK got 18 and so both parties should be given equal importance in cabinet. But in real, In TN, the 7 seats won by Congress is only because of DMK. Congress wouldnt've got even a single seat in TN, Had DMK not allied with them. Precisely the 28 seats won by UPA in TN is only because of DMK. Congress doesnt have significant vote bank in TN, that all knows. Now, one more notable thing is that, DMK would have got atleast 35 seats in TN, had it not allied with Congress. People of TN wants to ditch out Congress for its approach towards SriLankan-Tamil issue. DMK had in fact risked its own electoral show by allying with Congress, beacuse it wanted to be loyal with Congress. For all that DMK did, the last thing they wanted is to be treated just like another ally. DMK and TMC might 've got similar numbers, but Numbers doesnt always tell you the REAL STORY.

I beleive you're not from TN and no wonder you got the ground situation wrong. A month before TN election date, the pre-poll predictions given DMK a clean sweep of 35 - 5. One week before election date the seats came down to 25 - 15. The reason is that TN people started protesting against Congress government for its strategy in Srilankan Tamil Issue. You should note a point here: In TN, DMK contested in 21 seats and won 18. Congress contested in 16 seats and won just 7 seats. Many of the Congress leaders and former congrees cabinet ministers are defeated like ManiShankar Iyar, EVKS.Elangovan, Thangabalu(TN Congress Chairperson). And you wats the fate of Chidambaram in TN. He won by a mean 3000 odd votes, and till the last round of counting, he wasnt sure of his win. That is Congress for you in TN. Lets take the facts, however hard to.

Invalid argument. Neither cong, nor DMK can win alone in TN. In that case AIADMK and its allies would have made clean sweep. Its their coalition that bagged 27 seats. And not DMK..
DMK must agree with whatever is alloted to them. Thats the best thing they can do in the interest of tamilnadu. Staying away and giving outside support is not going to fetch any good.
TN people did not have hatred on Congress for LTTE issue. They have experienced more from DMK and ADMK in this issue.
DMK never RISKED anything... Please understand MINORITY DMK Govt in Tamilnadu requires full support of congress. They have no other go but to stay in congress side.
If they were not in such situation. DMK would have betrayed and tried to join third front or forth front much before ADMK.
Its very pleasing that congress is in dictating position now. Mr.Singh, Please don have courtesy on DMK. They are not worth it.

This arg looks ridiculous. DMK got those 20 only b'coz of cong. Tamil ppl have voted in favour of cong and supported Cong effort to eradicate LTTE. If DMK had not allied with cong they would have got a big 0. I think DMK shud accept whatever is thrown at them as a good begar.

vijayakanth helped Karuna... He split votes.
And DMKs victory is not ethical one. i know perosnally the amount of money spent in Madhurai and Ramanadhapuram. DMK victory is out of money and power.
Can u suggest what best DMK could have done? they did everything right to win right from staying with congress. the only miscalculation is congress got 200 in centre which put karuna begging for Ministers.
Fortunately or unfortunately congress got more powerful govt at centre. they must ignore these samll allies and work in nations interest. I feel Mamta has behaved much much better when compared to karuna.
Karuna proves he is a local leader and not national leader.

Congress and DMK had one in narrow mrgin just because Vijaykanth splited the anti goverment vote in Tamilnadu. Even PC had won with margin of 3,000 only and TR baly for 20,000. Vaiko lost only for 20,00 vote. Actually Congress should give post to Vijaykanth by making him a rajyasaba MP as they do for MMS.
It was so immature on the part of such a senior and seasoned politian like mr karunanidhi to make such unfair demands in a coaliation govt with just 18 mps in hand.the demand is tarnishing DMKs reputation espcially with family politics.
They are not only dictating terms but at the same time want all key cabinet portfolios with independent charge is totally rubbish and ridiculous.Balu,Velu and Raja are corrupt Ministers in earlier Govt and they always act as ministers to TN violating collective governence ispite of taking oath publicly in the name of constitution of India.I would like to remind here that TN Govt has voilated Supreme Court instructions and bandh has been conducted in entire TN.Creation of SALEM railway division from Palakkad is no smooth affair as Govt itself involved in disrupting rail traffic to Kerala and tracks uprooted.Every act of TN is condemnable by one and all and this particular issue has blown up may definetly lead to catastrophe.
Karunanidhi personally has come to Delhi for getting berths for his family and as such to loot money for the party.Congress should not give in.For SriLanka Tamilians he didnot go to Delhi for hard bargaining for their welfare.
