Politics of playing with people's sentiments in the name of language, region, caste, creed, religion,& gender to gain political advantage is'politics of politics'.Similarly, buying votes, bullying voters, telling lies, giving false promises, stuffing ballot boxes with fake votes, cheating at the polling booths, intimidating voters etc.are few more examples of negative politics of politics,to gain political advantage.

It is only a view
by Arun on May 21, 2009 03:26 PM  | Hide replies

Dr. Kalam is entitiled to his views, but no one can say people have voted for a particular reason. In India where electoral system is not fool-proof and parties in power always have a distinct advantage, the results cannot be otherwise unless there are burning issues. In the case of BJP, the party failed to highlight issues and instead indulged in personalised attacks. This has not gone down well with the voters. Perhaps they would have done better if they highlighted the inner contradictions in the UPA coalition because of the left parties' adverse role and the inability of the government to check price rise.

India fell behind in development during the politics of 1989-1991. It needed PVNR and MMS to bring the Indian economy on track. But the real benefits have begun to show only since last 8 years based on the decisions taken during 1991-96.

Please understand that India did not fall behind in just 2 years between 89 and 91! It was due to bad rule by Congress that all those things happened.
Indians will never get wise. They will continue to be ruled by vested interests.

Not only that, in the nineties, many countries have opted for globalization and the mantra of free-economy caught-up the imaginatin of all. There was feel good factor everywhere across the globe and India was no exception. However, UPA attributed this factor to their rule during this period and NDA did not highlight this fact. However, UPA did not forget to remind the people that price raise and recession is part of the global problem.

Advani - Iron women

To Sri LK Advani – The people seem to have said “ You have our sympathies that you lost your chance to be Prime Minister. However, a Prime Ministerial candidate should project and highlight one’s own capabilities, experience, talents and achievements and not harp upon the real or perceived weakness of the opponent. Dr Manmohan Singh is an internationally renowned and respected personality, an honest and upright leader guided by the best interests of our country, a financial wizard credited with the financial stability of India and an embodiment of integrity, gentleness and gentlemanliness. He has impeccable credentials and a Curriculum vitae that is the pride of every Indian. You seem to have missed all this and repeatedly called him as the “weakest Prime Minister of India”. Well, we thought you are weak and do not have the strength to be our Prime Minister”.

Kavitha,

Agreed that MMS has to his credit fair amount of degree certificates from various prestigious educational institutions across the world. However, that does not make him a great leader. He is the PM of India and it is his prerogative to appoint council of ministers. Can he appoint even a Minister of State in some inconsequential ministry without getting permission from Sonia or Rahul. If he can, I would say he is the boldest PM of India.

message to BJP

Message to the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) – The people have said “We are interested only in development, jobs, water, irrigation, electricity, roads, remunerative prices for our agricultural products etc. We do not support any communal agenda or divisive policies. One of the great assets of our beloved country is the beautiful mosaic of “Unity in Diversity”. We want to sustain and preserve that asset. We also see through duplicity; For example, you criticize other parties for promoting dynastic politics but you do the same; you accuse other parties of purchasing politicians but you do the same; You initiated the Nuclear deal with the USA when you were in power but opposed the deal when you were in opposition”.

“If you subject yourself for unbiased introspection, you should be regretting the adventure or misadventure of your affiliates in Orissa. The attacks on Christians in Orissa has resulted in your party being almost wiped out in that state and in the process, you lost an important ally along with some 8-10 Lok Sabha seats. Your subtle projection of Narendra Mody as a future Prime Minister and the tacit support to the hate speech of Varun Gandhi, resulted in some of your allies getting jittery and wanting to leave NDA. Instead of your pre-occupation with people being converted, we hope you will really convert yourself as a party “with a difference” in the next 5 years and function as a constructive opposition.

There is no message to BJP. Even Congress won just 200 seats. The people of this country certainly want development and also respect. Every day , Christian missionaries are changing Hindus into enemies of their country by converting them. The greatest danger to India comes from conversion. India is India due to Hindu dharma, everything else is superficial. We also need laws to stop conversion, to eradicate reservations and to stop terrorism by madrassa trained groups like SIMI.
We are committed to fight for Hindu dharma and to establish rule of truth in Bharat varsh. We will also bring about the end of the politics of minority appeasement. Equal treatment of all , appeasement of none.
India faces threat from Christian missionaries and Muslim madrassas. Sonia will only make things worse for India.

Dear Kavitha,
Good outburst. "The attacks on Christians" is the outcome of a socio-economic problem between the tribes Kandhas and Panas! Please readup a little and then express yourself with the right information. The christians have committed an unpardonable act of presiding over the killing of an 80 year old man who dedicated his life for the betterment of a certain tribe in Orissa.

If you thought that congress was/is does not practic communal/divisive politics, please wake up from your slumber. It association with Muslim League and AIMIM of AP is a manifestation of the same. AIMIM attacked Taslima Nasreen at an event in Hyd last year. What do you call this if this is not communal!!! One can go on and on.... but its in your best interest to be better informed!
