A society that supports thugs such as Raj Thackrey must have a very high concentration of sadist, non-compassionate, hateful, bigot, racist and insensitive people.

people who burn trains and railway stations with least provocation are THE THUGS of india. they go all over the country to do similar things.

the state of education is well known in THE THUG STATE. but somehow bright and sincere and great students from same state score over everyone else in railway exams. how wonderful.

The Pande of India denied education to the masses so that they can manipulate the uneducated. These Pandes are the real culprits behind India's illeteracy.

Root cause of growing regionalism in Maharashtra. Continued...
by Jai Hind on May 25, 2009 07:21 PM  | Hide replies

Marathis have always welcome me and loved my presence in Maharashtra state though I am an outsider.B’cos I speak their language with respect & participate in their festivals.

I think there is a room for demonstrating our sensitivity to local culture. The immigrants should not mind learning Marathi, a local language of Maharashtra.

It will NOT hurt us my fellow Indians. Has it hurt (NRIs) Indians who settled in Europe and learned local languages of Europe? Can Indians dare to consider Americans as inferior just b'cos there are some flaws in USA and use bad words towards fellow Americans in USA?

No sir, you arewrong if you are comparing us as NRI. We are in our own country and there is a national language called "Hindi" that is common for all. If anybody is from out side of maharashtra and speaks hindi marathi's should not hate them.

I totally aggred with Jaihind's view here. To respect the local language and culture.Even if we immigarate to Tamilnadu , Kerala we have to respect their culture. Mr Tiwari Can u go to Tamilnadu and Kerala and speak Hindi ????????????????????????
Every state in India is having their State language . Here in Maharashtra it is Marathi in Gujaraat it is Gujarati. Marathi manus has shown its maturity when it came to absorbing other cultures but there should be some threshold. Have you ever seen Marathi manoos celebrating Ganapati pooja in other states with Imported crowd and politicians from Maharashtra.(like Chatha pooja in Mumbai ) He will never do that. We are not against Chath pooja but it should not use as spring board for political aspirations.

I appeal all my Indian friends not to mistake Marathi manoos on this issue. They are as patriotic as other indians rather little more. our history itself is a proof.
We are not against North Indians or so. Please stay in maharashtra being Maharatrians. One day you will be proud being Maharashtrian.

Root cause of growing regionalism in Maharashtra.

Root cause of growing regionalism in Maharashtra.

I am not Marathi by birth, but I speak several languages of India including Marathi. I have seen Marathi culture very closely. If interested, you may want to find out why Shiva Sena and MNS got support from some people of MH. Maharashtra and its people had often welcome immigrants from every state. Lacs of
immigrants from several other states have prospered in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra. Most Marathis have been open to talk in Hindi and have been very patriotic towards India. Try and read the Indian history and you will see Indian freedom fight of Marathas, Punjabis, Rajasthanis and Bengalis.

In my childhood it was a fashion to call Marathis with derogatory words such as "Ghatis" in their own state by immigrants. Many immigrants in Mumbai used to consider Marathis as inferior and used to use bad words for them in front my own eyes. I have seen some Non-Marathi owned hospitals in Mumbai deliberately avoiding to recruit local Marathis. It was a fashion among most immigrants in Maharashtra NOT to learn and NOT to speak Marathi. Do such negative tendencies show gratitude, sensitivity, respect and integrity towards Marathi culture where immigrants breathe air of Maharashtra state for 24*7 and earn our living in Maharashtra? Shiva Sena and MNS were born as a reaction to such negative tendencies. I am just trying to do root cause analysis here and not supporting any political party

Is quiet bias better than open debate like Thackerays?
by Jai Hind on May 24, 2009 09:04 PM  | Hide replies

Several non-marathis may dislike what Balasaheb or Raj Thackeray are saying, but at least they are open and shooting straight.

Try and do survey in Indian offices. You will be surprised to see how Tamil bosses have quietly given biased preference to other tamils during job hiring and promotions. I have seen similar examples of Bengali bosses. What Lalu did in Indian railways behind the door is well known...Giving recruitment to thousands of North Indians through examination paper leakage scandals and corruption.

What you are telling that is correct but doing partiality is not correct everywhere.
People should get job on the merit neither on the region basis nor on cast basis.
When I was studying in Pune University, that time there were some marathi teachers, who did always partiality with non-marathi students especially with north indian.
One day I asked to one of marathi teacher “We feel, you are biased against us becoz of non-marathi”. Then he told in front of everyone, that is human being and I am helpless, I’ll keep continue the same partiality in future also.
That time we raised this matter in front of our HOD also, but as all of us were non-marathi, didn’t get proper support from any where.
And finally one marathi guy topped the department inspite of there are 4 or 5 beter guys were there.
Now if Raj wants that all outsiders should give respect to marathi culture, it is correct. But respect should come from heart not by forcefully.
Also if he complains about all north Indian then this not correct, only notorious, illiterate northies are involved in these types of nonsense activities but what happened to you Mr Raj Thackery, you are well educated, we can not expect

you are spot on.. if the others do it then it's ok.. if we Maharashtrians raise the voice against this then suddenly the competition and equal oppurtunity bogy is raised.. if any north indian or bengali or south indian is more skilled than a Maharastrian then that person should definitely get the job.. the issue arises when Maharashtrian people with similar skills and experience are denied jobs just because the boss is a non Maharashtrian.. the issue is not about Maharashtrians lacking skills as is pointed out every now and then by the north indian lobby.. the issue is croynism within the non maharashtrians groups and complete lack of respect to local ethos.. on top of that these people especially is customer service refuse to provide any services to the locals in the local language.. not everyone is fluent in Hindi.. also the rise in migration is used as back door by the north indian politicans to gain a foothold in the state.. these politicians once they have gained entry into the state will look only after their consituents (i.e north indians) and ignore the locals.. this is what annoys most people in Maharashtra today..
