See for yourself the difference between Kolkata airport and that of Mumbai and Delhi. The last two are spic and span clean, cleaning crew are clearing trash every 15 mins. On the other hand, Kolkata airport looks like some backward place in Somalia or Ethiopia (not to disrespect these countries). last year, CITU instigated strike crippled Kolkata airport for several days, - causing inhuman trouble for the travellers. tell me which industry is going to trust CPM? Why should not an investor go to neighboring orissa or Assam. In other states, state machinary extends full cooperation for investments. In WB, officially investors are welcome. Then when the investor sets up the shop, then CITU/Coordination Committee comes and starts sucking blood in various pretexts. This is the way for the party to fatten its coffer in the name of "industrialization".
In Gujarat BJP courts industries for the state's development; but in West Bengal CPM invites industries to fatten its own pocket and keep the goonda cadres afloat. The differences are striking.

Kerala is better coz mallus go and work in Middle East (they don't get anywork in Kerala - NO INDUSTRY WORTH THE NAME IN KERALA).. The communists take Nookku kooli (it is nothing but they just stare at someone doing work and take the reward (Nokku = STARE && Kooli (REWARD) !!
Oh this grand crashdown of the 'bloodstained hammer and sickle movement' brings such a moment of relief for Bengal and that of huge triumph to countrymen/women thinking 'progress' instead of misinterpreted 'progressive'
