CPM was initially against the bangladeshi migrants and treated them very badly. Read newspaper archives from 1971-1973. I faintly recollect the marichjhapi massacre. But later on food minister of LF, Kalimuddin Shams found out a novel way to accommodate these migrants, by providing them ration cards.
* Socialism = Preventing Race to the Bottom * Capitalism = Promoting Race to the Top India needs Socialism and Capitalism (either implicitly or indirectly) to build and sustain a great nation. And Indian Communists are absolutely clueless about Capitalism.

communists are a bunch of hypocrites, they opposed reforms, they opposed nuclear deal, they opposed industrialization and so many things. But in WB and Kerala they promoted reforms, they promoted industrialization and even killed and intimidated many farmers for same.

Free market economics is not good for the country. SEZ is a dangerous approach which is a threat to our sovereignty and freedom. Communism and capitalism are not advisable. Let us follow middle path. Mega loans with strings which are negotiated without transparency curtails our freedom and dignity. N-deal put us in deep debt trap. N-deal take away our sovereignty and freedom. N-deal will force India to sign NPT, CTBT, FMCT and what not. Be cautious of undercover agents to operate freely in Indian soil.

Mr.Joy Gupta Please read various messages in the discussion board. At least you can read my message board.
Actually the leftist/socialists have killed more people in the last 100 years in comparison with what the religious fundamentalists have done in the last 1000 years. Millions have been killed by the Chinese, Russian, European and South American leftists/communists
Though one is so glad that the Left has been shown its place (FINALLY) in West Bengal, I am tight-lipped about what the victors are going to be able to do.
For starters, the Left is still in power in the State Assembly and elections are still 2 years away. From parliament, there is limited reach to within a state's administration.
So while Mamata & co can rave and rant in Parliament against the Left policies in Bengal, nothing as such is going to overtly disturb the state govt. Unless of course, in golden Congress tradition, the state govt gets dismissed by the Centre (this may happen for all). Should that happen, then Indian democracy goes back to its dark days of Indira Gandhi's regime, emergency, et al.
I just wish that the Cong-TMC work constructively in Bengal and re-energise a tired, poor and beaten populace. If however, they go back to virulent opposition of the Left (oppostion for its OWN SAKE), then Bengal will continue to suffer.
Their biggest contribution could be if they can influence the Centre to TOTALLY CURB the rampant trafficking of Bangladeshi immigrants into India. This is a well oiled mint for the CPM and the Paramilitary forces. This should stop immediately - since this is a national hazard now.

Syed bhai, I trust your madrassa education has given you a decent vocab. this does not quite seem the case. In any case, what kind of language can one expect from your ilk - a bunch of rabid, fundamentalist maniacs that you are.
It is the fault of the Congress and its horrible vote bank politics, that the likes of you can talk like this in India.
If you guys had gone off to your pure land, Porkistan, in 1947, India would have been so much the better.
Its your ilk that creates the stink in this country.
