Cracks in NDA and unwarranted comments on Advani by few readers
by sriprakash mohanty on May 18, 2009 12:47 PM  | Hide replies

It goes like this, when the elephant falls in mud, even rats joke at it.This is the situation of BJP.Many people have joked at Mr.Advani in this column. Please remember that whether you agree or not BJP is a nationalist party and Sri Advani is one of the tallest leader in our times. Those who have joked at him shows their childish behaviour and knowing nothing about the country's polity, difficult times, diplomatic relationship with other countries with special terms with Russia and many other things. The weighatage of the Opposition leader is not less than the Prime Minister.Has any one seen Advani promoting his family members in his 55 years of politics ? Todays so called modern babes will not understand this and understand only party,laptop,boy/girl friend and their self centric sphere. So such comments on a Veteran like Mr.Advani shows their bankruptcy in understanding the whole thing.Good Luck to them.

Ironically, the lotus is always found in the muck. Wonder if BJP did not consult appropriate godmen before it chose its symbol.

This is not only true for congress but for all parties.

What do you expect?
Hindus get beaten all the time?
It is the disaster for third front,Particularly Left,
They lost their base because they supported UPA for 4 years without being the part of it,
So people thought other way why after voting to LEFT the congress is ruling then vote directly to left is the people policy.
Now it is clear TDP and others
who are reluctant to form opposition to congres with BJP failed now also,so these party should fight congress to tooth and nail, then only they can survive,

The Result & Its meaning
by smriti jha on May 18, 2009 12:39 PM  | Hide replies

At the OutSet the results looks abvious that Congress has been elected to govern the Nation but a further detailed look gives us a different Picture.Of total Votes Polled(Which itself is only close to Avg of 50% Across India) is only around 28% and its allies of UPA added together is around 34%. Which means even today the NON UPA or NON Congress Voice is Still Higher. Buts thats the type of Democracy we are in. Congress Should Thank the services of Raj Thackrey,Chiranjeevi, Vijayakath, for helping in getting the No of Seats what they Got in Maharastra,AP & Tamilnadu. Even in this Loksabha the combined strength of NON UPA Partners is More than the UPA Partners. Offcourse its another story that Now all this will change since they are back in Power.
BJP lost the election from the day 1 Key reason expect in few states they dont have much of connect with common man. In cities all BJP Supporters are only big time bloggers but not real voters & they enjoy a holiday during polling day whereas a Congress Supporter Votes even on 44 Degree Hot day. More than its Pro Hindutva factor which many blame as the reason on the contrary its the disconnect with masses for their everyday need which casued the BJP's Loss. you have 5 years Now to try your luck to reconnect!!!.
You cant explain any specific Logic in elections
Interestingly the following people Lost
Pink Chaddi Spear Head - Renuka Choudry
Antulay
Chidambaram
Strangely following won
Varun&Maneka
BJP Mang'loreCandidate

Smriti,

Your accessment is perfectly right.
UPA is still a we-have-to-yet-reach-majority alliance. Some opportunists will ofcourse support it (like JD-S).
Again, it has to be a rag-tag co-alition for another 5 years and India, which has prevoiusly gone to dogs will go to wolves and hynas.

Maneka won because of her Charisma. A little sympathy wave would also have worked in her favour and her son too.

As for as Mangalore's winner Nalin Kumar Kateel was concerned, there were two factors invloved.
1. Congress has pitted Janardhana Poojary who had lost his credibility long back (loosing last 4 to 5 elections).
2. Blowing out of Proportion of the Pub attacks by the media, the illegal conversions issues were able to bring people together to support BJP.

The time has come to pray for those people who are wishing to change the religion of hindus. The god is there to see who converts the religion or gets converted.
Any human being has no right to change his/her religion. If this happens in India another relolution is definite.
Advani and Modi will decide what they want to do.No other dirty christian has any right to give his bullish idea Keep with U U will need in future.
