accept defeat
by Imran on May 18, 2009 12:11 PM  | Hide replies

I’m amazed to see the attitude of the sanghis here instead of accepting defeat they are blaming the media, rigging etc etc for bjp’s defeat.
Such attitude only has cost them the power they have scant regard to the constitution or anyone who opposes them.
I’m sure if they continue such attitude they will not even win a single seat in future .
Pls don’t humiliate the citizens of this country who have voted rightly.

Wake up BJP
by Argumentative Indian on May 18, 2009 12:11 PM  | Hide replies

It is time for BJP to wake up.

I am NOT a BJP supporter.

Firstly, the BJP did not get a 'thrashing' in the polls, they did not win as much as expected.

Secondly, the views of BJP supporters in this forum are grossly wrong, that NDTV played a role in Congress victory.

@ 50% Indians voted this time, BJP supporters themselves say, the educated did not vote.

So what, the Kamwali Bai, the driver, the watchman and the farmer, spend their time watching Prannoy Roy articulate abstract ideas wearing an expensive suit???

BJP went on harping on issues that are irrelevant to the poor, less educated, rural voter, Terrorism - what's that? Go to any village in India and ask the farmers how they felt when Taj was attacked, many of them will not know the existence of a Taj Mahal outside of Agra!

Black money in Swiss Banks - thats an even greater joke - many of them will not know what is Switzerland!!

The people who care about these issues don't vote.

I think the Congress intentionally does not bother to counter BJP allegations of a biased media, as this diverts BJP's attention, while the Congress does grass roots work in rurual India.

For this grass root level contact, I respect Rahul Gandhi. He did, what many years ago, his great grandfather had done.

In more contemporary times, any MBA in an FMCG worth its salt, spends time traversing rural India, because that is who we are, Bharat.

Wake up BJP. Get your analysis right.

Rats desert
by Rajni Mishra on May 18, 2009 12:09 PM

Well, it is not surprising that cracks have started appearing in the NDA. We all know that the rats desert the sinking ship. RLD comprises master opportunists. JD(U) comprises megalomaniacs, who believe that one good win makes them Masters of the Universe.
The BJP made the biggest mistake by personally targeting Dr MM Singh. It did not go well with the electorate because it is against the grain of Indian ethos to personally target a person. If the party has to revive, it must get rid of all the cow-webs. It must not only compulsorily send to Vanprasth leaders like Professor MM Joshi, BS Shekhwat, LK Advani, but also give charge to people who have come up from grass-roots.

by Abbas Rescued on May 18, 2009 12:08 PM  | Hide replies

Thanks to Navin Chawla... I think the boxes used for polling and boxes used in counting were all different...

Its a shame on Congress... They will get decimated soon... This is just probably the last time evenr Congress is winning in India... India will be rescued soon...

Loosers like PC have been declared winners... God save this country for now...

We will have a self-declared winner (actually a looser) as our home minister... One who has lost the only election he contested as the PM... Great country... Long live India...
