No, JGN. I am not afraid. I am enjoying the fate he has faced. He thought his chance had come, as Vajpayee was unwell. And he got a supporter who inflated him beyond limits. I am happy to both of them deflated. I know your sorrow. But you will have to live with it. Mr Advani too will have to live with the bitter realisation that people of India did not get misled by his speeches, TV appearances, fist-clenching, weight-lifting, sword wielding etc, etc.

JGN, you had a field day before election and wrote a lot of rubbish about Congress, Sonia, MMS. Now you must eat your words and apply burnol where it hurts.
You did not answer my comments above, regarding the shattering of ex-PM-in-waiting's dreams.

I am not worried about BJP coming to power or not. MMS is the most shameless person I have ever seen in my life. He had no shame in lambasting the "commies" in the name of some imaginary events of 1942 at a meeting at Cochin (after being the PM with their support for four-and-a-half years from 2004 to 2009) and the very next day at another meeting he had told that he would take their support if need arises.

mahabodhi, such characters exists in all parties. Mr. Abu Azmi had declared wealth of Rs. 4 crores in 2004 and in 2009 he declared wealth of Rs. 122 crores. I really do not know how a person can increase his wealth from 4 crores to 122 crores in just 5 years!!!!! There are 300 crorepatis in the present Lok Sabha according to another article on Rediff itself. And of course there is no need to talk about one Mr. Q....who ran away with Rs. 21 crores of our tax-payer's money.

The destiny of india was in limbo for a year after CPI BLACKMAILED govt..now they have been shown the RED card. Lalu tried to MOO down the congress by breast stoking Paswan…he lost all his Bhai CHAARA that went GO Tall Ah!..The Paswan..that is now Past MAN, Paswan. Advani vitriolics on MMS as the weakest was his weakest moment…his opposing ways got him same job again..core competency.MMS is the weakest PM we have seen , -ah, Congress is afraid to elect any other leader as all r ambitious n BELIEVE me…right after 2 yrs …MMS will fall ill and get hospitalized and RAhul will take over….Sonia has mastered Hindi better than Jaya Amma –hindi or Mayawati Tamil…and she is now sensing Queen Mother’s role like UK with Rahul playing Charles…..so we r as much Brit Ruled as much as by the best mafia..not D nor C but Italy…see how before elections Q was freed…Jaya,Maya, and others thought they are great …but no match to the firangi. Indian men were humiliated by the men from occident and by the firang women by accident…Sonia bring an Italian bahu for Rahul or drug a girl from Columbia..Modi and Varun were mistakes and BJP had to commit it….they will now be stronger..All stars shone but only a few out shone…Let us salute the RETURN OF THE DYNASTY…All voters won and lost….what they won..what they lost..no one knows….for the common man- does his life change from here….GOD bless my dear INDIA..J

Decision of L K Advani to continue in politics will only result in fastening the downfall of BJP.Most of the BJP leaders are in their 80s and still dream of coming to power,why can/t they have young blood coming forward?And still Modi calls INC as Budhiya party.He can't see the age of MPs like LK Advani,Kailash Joshi(most incompetent MP from Bhopal),Sumitra Mahajan.Thses people have done nothing for their constituency nor are they leaders of national stature but still BJP keeps on fielding them.

For the BJP to rise again it should bring forward new leaders sans Modi type who have the energy and vision for transformation and for whom development is the priority.Anti-congressism is not a policy which will yield results nor is Hindutava.People want leaders who can provide better governance.

Advaniji should give up post of opposition leader in paliament to future leader who will take over party leadership in next general election while remaining his/her mentor. Next general election would be tough task for BJP as congress will have free hand in reforms plus it has secured its future in Rahul/Priyanka. BJP has to come up with matching leaders and produce better alternative before people by next election. If this is not done, defeat in future is also certain.

Congress will not have free hand on reforms. They have Mamta, an anti reform leader. DMK and others will have their own compulsions.

All that is projected that it is a mandate for a stable Govt is farce. The truth is that UPA has failed to secure simple majority. They will have to depend on some more parties which have ideological differences.

Is majority always right?
by subramanyasastry hoskote on May 18, 2009 10:31 PM  | Hide replies

I do not claim that I can never go wrong. But, I feel that majority view need not be correct always. There is an intrinsic flaw in democracy although it may be the least when compared to other forms of governance. So notwithstanding the victory of the CONPARTY led by the foreign born lady, I still think that MMS is the most incompetent of all the PMs we had so far; He is the most selfish and power hungry person but disguised to give a different image; He is as cunning - if not more - than Lallu, Mullah, Maya and Jaya; His means of achieving something are very unethical and immoral (N Deal and the betrayal of the left);
The BJP should become like it was during late 80s and early 90s when the treasury benches had to keep their mouth shut when BJP members spoke;

Moment there was surge against tytler Congress removed him. BJP should have sacked Varun when he was found in hatred speech. Tough action is needed by party head. Nobody should take party head for granted. That is the success of congress. BJP leaders take tough stand against indiscipline in party at any level.Rajastan was lost because of the old lady's damage as CM. She should be shown the door.

The BJP leaders are yet again in denial when they point the finger at Varun. They are deliberately trying to mislead their cadres for the real reason of thier defeat.

Just see the hypocrisy - They say Varun brought them defeat due to his inflammatory words...WORDS...and they are silent on the fact that they have no problem projecting a MASS MURDERER as a PM candidate..sort of..Modi has done for which they are now trying to make Varun a scapegoat..when all he has is said only words..pathetic!

From 2004 they learnt nothing and forgot everything!

I am sure Modi will win once again in Gujarat! But that about it for this war criminal!

The internal campaign against Varun could be a move to eliminate him from future leadership. Nevertheless if a emerging leader like Varun feels that to succeed in a party like BJP he has to become a Modi then surely there is something very wrong with this party.

I am glad the people of India rejected the message of hate!

I can proudly say Jaihind!

Dear Zaki, why do you think Modi is a mass murderer???

I feel otherwise, I think Manmohan Singh is a mass murderer as he / his government is yet to take action against the lone captured terrorist Ajmal Amir Kasab. One thing that I understand is man (Manmohan Singh) supporting a bad man (Ajmal Amir Kasab) is as bad as bad man (Ajmal Amir Kasab) himself.

Also, don't forget, Afzal Guru is yet to be punished. He was not given any mercey by then President of India Mr. Kalam, but this Congress Govt. has played a vote bank politics and never hanged him.

Congress is back to power and am sure both Afzal Guru and Kasab could be feeling happy as this surely has extended both of thier lives by another 5 years.

To the hell with this terrorist supporting government.

The burining of the train bogies was done; assuming it was the case then it was a case of people who would be considered criminals, andcertainly fit to be put ot the severity of the law. However what the Gujarat govt. led by Modi did was to target the entire Muslim population throughout Gujarat, using the State machinery. This is the definition of a genocide. Yes! A govt. in independent India committed a genocide and it is accurate to say that Modi is a mass murderer. And more importantly a mass murderer with the consent of other Gujaratis. This cannot be forgotten!
