Shri Hegde
Media brought up Modi issue repeatedly
by Shri Hegde on May 17, 2009 02:29 PM

though NDA had made is very clear that LKA was their leader, to the extent CongI had to announce their PM candidate before the election (which has never happened in the past).
Despite Modi himself saying that LK is this leader/mentor and the PM candidate for 2009 and 2014.
Media created this confusion and kept at it.

Advani's decission to Quit
by Sommy on May 17, 2009 02:29 PM  | Hide replies

It's good decission and he took the morale responsibility. He has served 50 years in Indian Politics and should go with honour.

BJP supporters, please honour him.

Note: Congi supporter/Outsiders, please don't comment. This is BJP's internal matter. Thank you.

BJP is totally finished. By now they should close down all their offices and dont think of ruling India at all. Indians will never never accept BJP who are communal and always want to disturb the peace and progress of the country....Being a modern youth, no body could believe that Mr. Varun Gandhi could make hate statement. Looks like he never went to school and read the PLEDGE..."India is my Country and all Indians are my brothers and sisters....."

by sanjay hattangadi on May 17, 2009 02:27 PM

The reporters ask queries and put words into the mouth of the leaders. this is a common thing. The same thing has happened here. Further Mr Yadav says that it should have been dismissed immediately. But how could the media do so, when they had got some nice food to chew. Despite BJP trying to dismiss it, the media was hell bent on keeping it alive.

i know many people here r shouting secular congress...secular congress and ridiculing BJP as communal...communal.........but remember 1 thing....1 day will come when there will be 40% muslims and 20% cristians and then hindus will be in the minority.... then i will ask you people that how r u feeling to be living in a secular nation and that time u people would be answerable. that time u will realise the importance of leaders like mr L K ADVANI and the services they have done 4 the country..... but by then it will be 2 late and u people will cry on the fate of this country..... REMEMBER MY WORDS....AND REMEMBER UR CHOICE.

Its true and going to happen within next 50 to 60 years what you stated is unseen and unknown and undisclosable true Hindus are like that its foolishness to say we are responsible for our illfated situation in future comindays, its happen only in India no where else will happen. Remember Mughal/Kazi/Sayad Time how hindus were treated being majority but they forget and reducing to rumble all most now in India itself out of India Indians have no choice of their own they have to obey others too muuch obidients/

Though bit more sarcastis..but few points are correct. Like slavery...Indians are slave to Indira Gandhi and her real heirs. Even the politicials within COngres know that they need to project Gandhis as leaders and get their seats won.

Its patheitc the way congress and media are projecting Rahul. The main reason for Cong's win in Rajastan, Punjab ,Kerala and UP. If these were not won back other than UP they would have been in begging state to get allies. But cong and media are just hailing UP's achievement.

Cant u guys see a conspiracy and brain washing excercise by media and Cong to continue Gandhi's into becoming PMs. Sonia was a nightwatchman to allow batsman Rahul come fresh later for long innings.

I see this as slavery ..not phyisical but physicological

I feel pathetic.

Major and decisive gain for U.P.A. came from Left ruled states(61-25=36 seats) , U.P. (15 seats)Rajasthan, Punjab & Uttaranchal(28 seats).
These 70 seats have made all the difference.
This time due to heavy Media influence ,Contest narrowed down mainly between U.P.A and N.D.A. .Where ever N.D.A. did not have significant presence ,Congress got the easy walk over (Kerala, Bengal, Tamilnadu, U.P.)
Ignoring Development issue, Rajasthan voted on cast line where as Punjab voted for a Sikh prime minister.
It is easier to make all short of stupid comments and ridiculing BJP ,but fact remains that all BJP ruled states (except Uttaranchal) have decisively voted in favor of N.D.A., where as Congress just scraped through in Assam ,Maharashtra, and Andhra.

In WB and Kerala, if Cong would not have won win, Left would have won. That still will not get NDA any seats. Presence in all states is a must if NDA wants majority of its own. Either BJP should have its strong presence or it should have an strong and trustworthy ally in states like Kerala, WB, TN (Parties like DMK, AIADMK are never trustworthy allies).

Thats perfect analysis of outcome. Thats what this election has been. Congress being more psuedo secular and pro minority has helped in Rajastan, Kerala ( Sonia effect to avoid communist).

But this should not take BJP away from Hindu based idiology.

On Varun, why we idiot Indians do not discuss the comment in context. The neighbouring constituency is Mozlim dominated. I know what attrocities they cause if they have power or in majority. In that context Varun said that if someone harasses he will not spare. Though it may be poticially oriented but atleast atleast the threat of it will make mozlims in that area think twice before harrassment. IS THAT WRONG? On the other there are huge conversions happening which Hendus do not have issues. ITS A SHAME the way Hendus are hiding behind being modern and avoiding a party that is in their favour. We will pay the price when it goes out of control we suffer like Keede makode.

This has happened in few states or constituencies and then people have voted for BJP. So Hendus are waiting for that bottom to rise up for thier own right.

Ofcourse no blame to minority. They are playing right game its Hendus who are idiots.

Another opportunity lost. But I am happy that atleast shameless parties like RJD, SP, Communists have been shown their doors. Cong hopefull will improve rather than run the country.

My friend, Congress did quite well in Andhra, it won 31 of the 36 seats even more than what CB Naidu had(28 in 1999). Maharashtra it was over 50%, 25 out of 48 with its ally NCP, Assam yes it just managed to hang on. Problem is why does not or why not after so many years NDA or BJP for that matter unable to build allies in Kerala,WB,TN and UP(once considered BJP bastion a decade back). I am no Congress supporter at all but facts remain facts. I fail to understand what great work Ashok Gehlot has done in Rajasthan and inspite of what happened on 26/11 how did Maharashtra hand over 50% seats to Cong and company. Seriously, the people of India need to do a rethink on how to exercise their franchise. Equally puzzling is DMK and Mr. M Karunanidhi still managed to hold on inspite of practically taking TN down the drain in its past ruling years.

Use your brain. Just bcos UPA made inroads into left ruled states, that doesnt give them a cake walk to form govt. At the same time, they also held on to the seats which they won last time, and thats not an easy task if they had "mis-ruled" the country

Suggestion to BJP rules states
by Sommy on May 17, 2009 02:19 PM  | Hide replies

The low voter turn outs in some states affected BJP. I know lots of people who supports BJP, but couldn't go to vote for different reasons and they are now regreting.

Here is the suggestions to BJP ruled states.

In order to attract people to vote there should be a rule to get Tax Reduction (may be 1% or 2% whoever goes to vote. But people should get the benefit if they have a PAN card and make sure they pay Tax regularly.

I know Congress supporters won't like this, that's why I have requested BJP states.

People might forgo that 1-2% tax deduction rather than taking the trouble of PAN card and regular tax remittance.

Any other sops to vote?

By the way why do not BJP think of a single step to help the poor and non-influencial Hindus so that atleast they vote for BJP?

Roti , kapada aur makan pehle. Ram Temple and Ram sethu comes next.

Why BJP lost?
by Sachin Marathe on May 17, 2009 02:19 PM

Why BJP lost:

1. Undue proportion of publicity to Varun Gandhi. BJP neither favored nor opposed his views. This left the voters think which way BJP is going.

2. Treatment for terrorism, which back-fired BJP because of Kandahar.

3. Calling Manmohan Singh as weak PM, for the record Manmohan Singh is the most qualified PM ever in the world.

4. No Vajpayee, Advani don’t have that charisma. Even Modi and Varun carries more popularity than Advani.

5. The most capable leader like Arun Jaitley being kept at abeyance.

6. Neither supporting majorities nor opposing minorities.

7. Don’t have presence in South except in Karnataka.

8. Last but not the least, BJP never talked much about economic development or foreign policies or farmers.
