How sad ?
by Ashwin Rath on May 18, 2009 11:06 AM  | Hide replies

It is sad that the BJP lost, after all the BJP was the prefered party of the literate. The tons of illiterate advasis and dalits got lured by Rahuls antics and they being teh majority, congress won !. I pity the nation and hope that some "enlightenment" comes soon.

well the problem with the literate mass was that they never wanted to know anything that's not there is the books so were so out of touch with people's aspiration that even in their stronghold of Gujarat they couldn't find the enlightened illiterates. Advise for BJP try to do the RAhul way start doing rounds of different part of india probably you can find why RAhul Gandhi has become the sudden hit

2014 is the target if Congress retians its popularity.
by Rahul Singh on May 18, 2009 11:05 AM

Rahul may emerge as PM in 2014 if present PM gracefully exits politics for good and if congress party holds its fort then.

the BJP supporters on the internet have bcome a muted lot....its not surprising bcos they thought election is fought on the internet!!

there was an online poll which advani was winning by a huge margin....it shows that - there are lot of expats online(read true indians who dont know anything about true india)....and the rest are those who are sitting in their offices and timepassing in breaks....

happy for a stable and inclusive government and not the divisible politics of bjp

Election Results- 'A flash in the pan'
by Kanchi Prithviraj on May 18, 2009 10:31 AM

Only time can tell whether the present result of the election was a flash in the pan or a well deserved victory for Congress. Now that Congress has got a reasonable majority without much dependence on outsiders, they have a heavier resonsibility on their shoulders to prove their worth. They will have no excuse for non-performance, in case they do not rise up to the expectations.

One sure messsage has emerged from the result. There is no place for communal parties who have all been laid to rest, perhaps permanently.

Best wishes to the new team and hope they will fulfill the aspirations of the teeming million. Although, in this election also, it may not be wrong to say that they have been elected by those who did not vote.

Euphoria is welcome but pragmatism is a must
by Sundaram on May 18, 2009 10:27 AM  | Hide replies

In the moment of victory, Congress can afford to rejoice but should not act arrogant towards its older alliance partners. Lalu Prasad deser-ves the Rly Ministry as he did an outstanding job peviously. Likewise if Amar Singh & Mulay-alam had not bailed out UPA, in the moment of crisis, UPA would have lost majority long time back. Mamta Bannerjee is unreliable and is better known for walking out of ministries. It is better to have more reliable friends such as SP for back up.

Your id is is antstupidity but you are stupid to say that only few Indians are jokers. What Suraj has said is 100% correct. What is wrong in what he has said? He is definately not a joker as may appear but is upfront in what he has conveyed.
