Sta, Be humble in loss. When u r at receiving end, be a tortoise and accept ur defeat in grace with head down at the same time thinking of revival. It is loss of NDA period. Dont make these comments to make UPA supporters say that grapes are sour.

Reasons for Congress Win and BJP's Failure to win
by R Prasad on May 18, 2009 02:14 AM  | Hide replies

Reasons for Congress Win and BJP's Failure to win

1) UPA, Election Commission and media together created fear of BJP among Muslims and Christians by planting fake "hate speeches" in Varun Gandhi's mouth and thereby consolidating minority votes all for Congress and UPA parties. This is the biggest winning factor for UPA. Also, Congress created "Sri Ram Sene" and Muthalik to defame BJP nationally by sensationalizing a small incident. Media is bigger enemy of BJP than Congress. The same fear mongering against BJP used by spreading misinformation on Kandhamal and Orissa.

2) Even though Congress has won, BJP has not lost. It's number of seats reduced but, it still got more or less same number of seats. The actual losers were Left, SP, RJD and LJP. BJP and new parties like PRP and DMDK played spoilsport on TDP,TRS, AIADMK and indirectly helped Congress and DMK by splitting anti-incumbency votes in states like AP and Tamil Nadu.

3) Betrayal of BJD at last minute and lack of party base in several states cost BJP dearly. In states like AP, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Bengal (except Darjeeling) the BJP is virtually non-existent nor has any allies.

4) BJP's own strategic errors like talking about 2014 PM etc also cost it dearly.

5) At the start of campaign, BJP and NDA started with UPA's betrayal of Aam Aadmi, but then fully distracted later. Common man(many of them poor) cares about daily life issues and problems such as price rise, lack of water, unemployment, energy, health care rather issues like Swiss bank money, Terrorism and IT etc. "Ram Mandir" issue in the manifesto was a blunder. Pure religious like Ram Mandir should be left for non-political organizations like VHP, RSS and Hindu leaders.

6) In this election also, most BJP supporters sat home on election days and didn't vote at all. BJP supporters are very notorious that they support the party in surveys, internet chat rooms, media websites, but they don't votes. If all of the BJP supporters vote for it, it would have gotten at least 5% more of total votes.

7) BJP does not have media (positive) exposure and a medium it can reach the people. Sick Indian SECULAR media publishes/spreads allegations/complaints/criticism on BJP/RSS/VHP and its leaders, but they don't publish the responses and reactions of BJP side. Nationalistic forces need to invest heavily in media and mass communications, otherwise it will be much more difficult to face Pseudo SECULAR forces in 2014.

R Prasad,
Being politically active I can answer few of ur questions.
1) Ram Sene was and is BJP creation. If it was not, then BJP should have taken a stern action against them. Ram Sene costed them huge. Campaigning for BJP in most rural seat of UP I observed that rural girls who go to city for their education have now become very scared of BJP and rightly so. Whats wrong and sick with current BJP with beating and molesting girls. And please dont say it was not BJP. It was BJP.

2) BJP has lost and lets accept the defeat. We lost the election period. We shouldnt be happy that SP and left lost more than us. WE LOST.
4) Indeed BJP strategist failed big time. What was that most of the tickets were allocated to people who cant even win MLA seats. BJP's version of young was people of 60 year age. What a strategy.
5) If u put Ram Mandir as strategy then be proud of it. Dont say that u were crying in room when mosque was demolished. Religion still connects people provided ur intentions are right.
6) You are right on point number 6.
7) Again accept the defeat. It was same media when we won election in 99. Besides here is an example. Do you think any media at all talks good about BSP? Everyone makes joke of Mayawati. Still she got full majority in UP. It is public and public vote is always right. Be graceful in defeat and accept the verdict of people in right spirit.

Why BJP won in and around Managalore area? I am disgusted by stupid post poll analysis.

It is media's war against BJP. It wont last long. Media is getting exposed big time. It is matter of time . People are being informed better and better. BJP is work in progress.

CONGRESS WAS THRASHED OUT IN KARNATAKA BY BJP INSPITE OF RAM SENA AFFAIR IN MANGALORE.THIS SHOWS THERE IS NO PROBLEM IN HINDUVA POLICY BUT DEVELOPMENT,NEW LEADERSHIP WHICH BJP FAILED IN OTHER STATES. MODI STILL HAD BEATEN IN GUJARATH CONGRESS DUE TO HIS DEVELOPMENT AND HIS VOTE SHARES DID NOT GO DOWN BUT SAME AS BEFORE.SO BJP LOSE IS NOTHING TO DO WITH HINDUVA BUT THEY MUST FOCUS ON DEVELOPMENT AND NEW YOUTHFULL LEADERSHIP INSTEAD OF TALKING OF RAM MANDIR WHICH THEY CAN THINK OF LATER ONCE COME TO POWER.
NOW DMK AND CONGRESS WILL ENSURE THAT SETHU SAMUDRAM PROJECT WILL GO THROUGH BY DESTROYING THE BRIDGE BUILT BY RAM. TILL THE ELECTIONS WERE OVER THEY WERE QUITE AND DID NOT TALK ABOUT THIS SUBJECT.BJP MUST KNOW THE ART FROM DMK/CONGRESS.

Oh yes. BJP work in progress. I see. In 92 BJP formed government in UP with full majority. Now in most of the seat they lost deposits. What a work in progress. Look at the arrogance of supporters. Lost the election very badly still instead of self analysis, blaming on media and sating it is work in progress. wow.

Why BJP won in Mangalore, because there they had local positive vibe going around. In places like UP Bihar Delhi where u dont have a positive factor and u contest the election on basis of that you will not allow women not going out of home - excusem it is not taliban

Why BJP Lost
by sachin johri on May 18, 2009 01:17 AM  | Hide replies

I think BJP lost because people of India (who voted) does not see BJP as an alternative and Advani as Leader.

BJP does not connect to rural Youth of the country and they do not have presence in many states.

But Rome was not built in a day and USSR was not disintegrated in on day, being a democratic Party (oppose to dynastic rule) its difficult to make people understand that they can be alternative to dynastic rule in India which exist from centuries and passed on from Rajah maharajas to Mugals and to British and to Congress (Gandhi helped to build it)

It might take couple of elections for BJP to reach to that’s stage.

Rediff people let me know how to write to Arun Jaitley of BJP, can you post my view to him, See they are living in fool's paradise, they need to do few things:

1. First thing is get some strategists in your party, people educated at ivy league universities, don't laugh at it, you need strategic thinking, this way whole life will go you never will be able to win. Get people from John F. Kennedy School of Governance at Harvard University, Stanford, MIT in your party. Congress has few people from Oxford, Stanford, Jyotiditya Scindia, Milin Doera these are educated at US Schools, this point will help you in thinking you out of box and you will really know what to do.

2. Stop talking Hindutva, it is not going to work, Muslims are powerful, everybody appeases them , you can talk till doom's day without every getting power.

3. Stop acting as Moral police, it is Kalyug even if you look spiritually, if you ask a guy or girl not to drink, not to do sex; they are going to come after you; so let people do what they want, you are bringing bad name by saying Hindutva, stopping people on valentine's day. By doing this you will loose power completely and it will be late for Hindus to realize they have lost voice in Parliament

4. Get a TV channel of your own, look what Barkha Dutt, Prannoy Roy,Rajdeep Saradesai are doing for Congress, entire Media, everybody is after you.

5.Beat Indians at their own game, if now something happens, develop indifferent attitude, just say "No Comments"

Any culture which is so ashamed to even read its own past let alone acknowledge it ( Just read snide remarks about Hindutwa and assorted posts in this BB by Educated Hindoos) is doomed to oblivion and that is precisely what is happening!we are taught to be ashamed of our own heritage and false talibalnsed Hindu culture is imposed on us ( like the sena people beating up women and girls and the neo-xtian propaganda!) Goons of shiv Sena and bajrang dal inspiredby talibani intolerance have not helped either! If The BJP governments had acted decisively then that would have sent a tough message!

U R so right Sachin. Thats the simplest thing that BJP needs to understand. They don't understand rural youths. In this election they acted as a party of people of seventy year olds running campaign sitting in posh offices of Delhi. With this approach they were lucky to win even 120 seats.

6. Finally do development, show people work, wherever you have governments in whatever state, go extra mile, do work, bring fresh blood in your party, with Modi nobody will vote for you, so don't project him as PM, learn please, Muslims are afraid, Pseudo Seculars will also thrash, so best thing is either Arun Jaitley should projected as PM, or get some fresh face, work work, so that public knows you can do development, you are constantly under microscope so your performance will be measured. Understand Muslims won't go anywhere, you need to get them in vote bank, what has congress also done for them, kept them poor, best you can say, we will promote people to do voluntarily population control by educating them, forget uniform civil code , article 370, forget Ram Mandir, in Kalyug people are not going to already existing temples. Why do you bother, your mistake is after struggling for whole life, you got power once, still you were not on toes to do development and show that to people, a weak candidate just gets chance rarely, so whenever that chance comes in life, one should put heart and soul in it. Anyway it is late now.

I wish Jaitely can read these 6 points, than may be they can get in power next time. But how to send him these 6 points, i don't have any email address or his postal address either.
