How abt giving specifics of the cases? Just listing number of cases is not enough...Let's know the glorious backgrounds of the people who make our decisions for us....

specifics of the cases can not be given coz some cases are just filed for political reasons like all cases against varun gandhi... and spineless rediff is too scared to list criminal cases against feroze raul maino gandhi... including cases of rape and drug dealing... google- rahul gandhi and rape and rahul gandhi and boston...
India is a CORRUPT DEMOCRACY, with a total DISREGARD FOR LAW. It is a country of laws in name only. All the laws are ONLY ON PRINTED PAPER. They never get ENFORCED. This is because ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES are IN CHARGE OF GOVT as well as JUDICIARY.
Elected leaders PASS THE LAWS, RUN THE GOVT as well as APPOINT THE JUDGES. There is no segregation of POWER. They hold all the power. That's why THEY ARE CORRUPT and ABOVE LAW.
Indian consitution should be CHANGED. The PRESIDENT should run the GOVT and should be elected by people directly. The MPs should ONLY PASS LAWS. They should not run the Govt. The president should recommend the appointment of Judges, but approved by LEGISLATIVE or BETTER STILL, the PEOPLE should ELECT THE JUDGES too.
The people should elect all three branches of Govt (Legislative, Judiciary and Executive) SEPARATELY. The power should be equally distributed to these three branches of Govt. The two of these three should be able to dismiss (impeach) the third for CORRUPTION. The PEOPLE should be ABLE TO RECALL all of the three branches.
India is an imperfect democracy where the citizens are not active, and they have only limited power.

the report that 150 MPs elcted this time have criminal record behind them makes a SAD reading.Why cant the powerful Election Commission amend rules to stop these criminal record holders from contesting elections? Let only a Graduate ,,a degree holder be made eligible to contest any state or central elections.Let there be limit to term a member can contest,say 2 terms or 10 years total during his life time.Let the Prime Minister be elected directly as a Prez of USA.Finally let this appeasement of minorities stop forthwith using them as a vote bank

Agree. EC must move to get rid of these bandits int he government. If these are criminals with murder and other not so enviable records, then what sort of governace can we expect. There are 41 in the ruling congress party.
Expect EC to be bold and add policies that prohibit anyone with criminal record or case pending to file for an MP election. They should also consider docking certain nunber of votes or allow the party with criminals less number of consistuencies to contest from.

it is truly a sad state of afairs that out of 1 billion people, we can not find 543 people with no criminal record who wd be proud to take this nation forward.
A person cannot become a director in a company if he has committed a crime of moral turpitude, but he/she can become the PM or President.
If the good Dr really wants to show he is tough, he shd flatly tell his Madam boss that no one with a criminal record will be given a cabinet portfolio.

Hey guys, I think so the list of names which are given above is small because on one side they are telling 150 people and giving only 10 names. People of India would like to know the names of all persons convicted under IPC. Dear Friends, I still dont understand why Indians easily forget the Boforce Scandal, Chara Ghotala, black money deposited abroad. What work did Mr. Rahul Gandhi did from 2004-09, why was he suddenly brought in front during the election time, only to attract the votes of youngsters. The country like India which has second largest population in world cannot find good candidates or leaders or we Indians only will rely on Gandhi Family. All the fault is of media only which only brings half the truth and wants only masala to sell their products or services. Dear Friends, when the Indian people are told to be patriotic, how much patriotism is shown by our political leaders?????? Do you expect Congress to take action against all this political leaders, which itself is involved in Bofors Scam and CBI which is always partial has given clean chit to them. I dont think so.

You are not above the Constitution and therefore your options are few. You could consider some drastic steps as well but I cannot suggest them to you. I could be charged with abetment.

Looks like most of the rediff editors are paid by BJP. You can easily find the pattern they publish news. What's need for this message/reply board. People are just spamming here..with there communal voice which is not good for a good society. Because nobody can trace them and they are anonymous here, they are just shouting like uncivilized persons. Looks like most of the ppl here are BJP supportors and they gone mad after the defeat... Yes i agree.. Actually rediff should be responsible and start a moderated board..There are sureley 5-7 bjp guys .. or are they employed i dont knwo sitting here and spreading venom.. Meghna reddy ,, wether she is really a reddy god knows.. it is easy.. We had seen a lot of such messages in this site earlier too but see election spoke and we know luckily the trend of venemous bjp is dying... it wil either be congress or some 2nd frotn .. i dont need thrid front though could be some other front..Already bjp is thinking what to be done.They are also thinking in same lines..to leave their party and make a complete new party..which has relegion tolernance,caste tolerance,and with intention to make the company and not make it a taliban.country..
