response shows who are secular
by sudarshan debnath on May 17, 2009 11:09 PM  | Hide replies

the response of this topics shows who are secular. the people who are saying that congress is part of many other political parties who ar based on religion, they shouldn't forget that they are having support of other such parties too. like sad in punjab, npf in nagaland, ss in maharastra, and in 2004 election they supported a kerala congress fraction leader kv thomas from muvattipozha seat where he won. so it is totally hypothetical to say that some party are religious and some are not where it is proved that the mature people of india wants a secular govt lead by congress not by nda lead by bjp who got many hidden communal agenda to disrupt communal harmony.

Sudarshan,

Wake up my friend!!!
It is because "mature" people in India voted for Congress for 50 odd years is why we have the world's largest stash in the Swiss banks.
Secondly, let us pls define what "secular" means. If it means having communal, religion-based parties into one's fold - how is one secular as a party or as an alliance? The religion-based parties (e.g. MIM, Muslim League, Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam, etc) have ONLY the interests of their co-religionists in mind. Where are these parties secular? I cant imagine or expect the MIM doing anything pro-Hindu.

How does truck with such communal elements make the Congress "secular"? If having Muslim and Christian parties in your fold makes the alliance "secular", then its a warped definition of the term. It is actually nothing but vote-bank politics in all its finery with minority appeasement for votes - as top on the agenda.

Of course the bigger hypocrites in the game, our corrupt, agenda based English media would uphold this warped definition and back their hypocrite brethren to the hilt. As they did this time and last time.

The BJP sadly has not messaged on this point effectively. Wonder why???

This election has been one dominated and determined by the minorities and the English media. Sadly, the Hindu majority sleep off the election day (they take it as a bonus holiday).

This is the biggest joke - if you think about it. "Secular" implies EQUAL treatment of ALL religions. In the case of the two parties here: Congress is ANTI-HINDU and the MIM is blatantly communal - by name and action.

Hyderabad Old City has NO HOPE. One thought they would, like people in West Bengal and Bihar, vote out the corrupt, useless incumbent and herald in much-needed change and a new era of development.

Far from it. Majority of Muslims in Old City have once again fallen prey to the MIM's tactics of fear psychosis and "protection" to seize power. It will possibly take another century for these guys to change.

So for the next five years, the MIM goons will continue to run amok in Hyderabad and hold the city to ransom periodically. Breaking rules and laws with impunity and at will, causing untold public nuisance, sheltering criminals and anti-national elements in Old City ..... the list is quite long.

And while they do this, the Congress govt will pretend that nothing has happened and handle these criminals with kid-gloves, and give them carte blanche protection from the law enforcement agencies.

Old City and its people are destined to rot in a morass of backwardness and under-devp for five more years. They had a good chance this time - but sadly let it go by.

Right. You always know whats right for the people and the people are too stupid to understand. It is this kind of attitude that keeps the BJP persisting with Modi. If you will noticce, the BJP gets a majority in Gujarat but never really seems to wipe out the Congress in the LokSabha elections. That should give you a hint as to the peoples mindset. India is a secular country with a sizeable minority. In many cases they will decide the election. The best way to get to power is firstly not trying to murder them and secondly not trying to tell them what to do or what to beleive in. A centrist leader of Vajpayees stature is required for the BJP.

If Hindus were fools, the BJP would have been elected. The parties you named may be communal but they dont have a history of mass murder like the BJP. They are not capable of as much damage as the BJP is.
