Fake certificates in Indian markets
by Bhupinder Singh on May 18, 2009 07:05 AM

Although, me too, belong to a super class sc Sikh, like Boota Singh, however, sins to be exposed. All Maharastrians possess some or other kinds of fake reservation certificates which they use in other states and various professional colleges. Even, their Brahmins possess sc certificates and get all sorts of benefits from other states. In every 10 Maharastrian families, you will find one freedom fighter. There was a time when Nehru and Patel empowered some of their own people to issue these certificates. During that time, these fake certificates were issued at random in these states, specially, Bihar, UP, Punjab and Maharastra. Today, we could perceive the reflections of those corruptions from their fiscal status.

Change
by kush chatterjee on May 17, 2009 12:59 PM  | Hide replies

A change is necessary in bengal...hope TMC & Congress keep their alliance till the assembly election in 2011 and the CPM will also pull themselves "DOWN" from their high headedness of 3 decades in power.
Assembly elections should be an interesting fight. Vigourous TMC, weaker congress (should see a plethora of congress grass root workers now shifting to TMC) and a meaner CPM (ironically without most of their tainted leaders out of candidacy).
Even the best of rulers or systems should change over a period in time to prevent degeneracy and usher in new thoughts, ideas and people.
Without any debate on ve/-ve contribution from the left during the last 3 decades and how good or bad Mamata will turn out to be as the CM, change is needed just for the sake of it.

Change does not necessarily mean for the better. Change has it's own risks and advantages. Whatever may be said against Buddhadev Babu and the CPIM, as a resident of West Bengal I can honestly and wholeheartedly say the Law and Order situation and normal living is absolutely peaceful. Singur and Nandigram are definitely a shame and should not have happened. But that does not call for a massive swing against CPIM. Only time will tell whether this change for which some people are longing will really be good for the state.

There is peace in "Samsanghat" also. But that is not the life. The so-called party cadres of CPM, with their red flags hoisted at all the factory gates terrorised people to such an extent that peopla never dared to speak against their organised hoolism, net result was peace. If you give money silently to party funds, even against your wishes, where does disturbances comes from. The goondas of CPM were looting from all sources of public funds like PDS system, Oil tankers (Katatel), Wagon and what not.If this is normal way of life then of course it is OK.

Why Communists lost elections?
by New York on May 17, 2009 12:47 PM

* Socialism = Preventing Race to the Bottom
* Capitalism = Promoting Race to the Top

We need both (either implicitly or indirectly) to build and sustain a great nation.
And Communists have NO clue about Capitalism.

the cpm in bengal could do with a dose of vastusastra if they wish to regain their power. 1st they should rename their hqs from mujjafar bhaven to modi house. 2nd, shift their central office from alimuddin street to nathram godse road. we know why he commies love arbic-sounding names. but it didn't help this name. commies are hypocrites par excellence.

Yes, CPM has become like 2-carat gold (Prakash Karat and Brinda Karat) that very few people are willing to buy from the poor salesman Sitaram Yechuri.

They resemble very much like the KKR in IPL-2 where 'armchair coach' John Buchanan has spoiled the team's chances.

The Karats and Yechuri forced the Left Front to ditch UPA, and now they themselves are badly cornered.

Manmohan and Pranab were quite pally with Buddha till about a few months ago (Biman has always been a howling dud any way) but this 'leftist ditch' prompted Pranab (and Sonia) to tie up with Mamata; and now results are there for all to see.

Like 1996, this was another 'historic blunder' by the Left Front when they shoot themselves on the foot by ditching UPA.

What was most amusing was when Gurudas Dasgupta in one of the tv channels said before results that as last time they had supported the congress, the congress would have support the left in forming the government this time! This is nothing short of a joke.

Biman should also quit. He does not know how to behave with people. Once he claimed "I am the Lelin" once he spoke like a goon "Lala , Bangla Chere Pala". Why these peolpe calls for a Bandh, when common people do not want this. The are too stupid and arrogant to understand the poor's sentiment. Why they opposed the Nuke deal? Why they blindly follow marxism ....... Who have created the goons like citu and all.

well said.... this commies are impractical, but still ppl voted for them last 32 yrs !!!! Work culture in bengal is spoiled by them, especially ex-CM Jyoti Basu. I personally like present CM, appreciate his down to earth attitude, sincererity to development, but its too late for commies. They should be kicked out to sit in opposition and if they behave like a responsible (???), may get a chance to correct their mistake.

Boss, do u know why and how the cpm remained in power for long in west bengal? First and foremost, the TMC and congress were separate till now and as a result the votes got split between the two while the cpm had their loyal supporters who always suported them. As a result the cpm always won. Again, go the country side specially the rural areas where the TMC voters are threatened by the political goons not to vote and they indulged in booth capturing. Now, that the TMC and the congress came together, the voters specially in the rural areas boldly came out to vote. So, it is not that voters voted for the left out of thier won free will.
