Confession of a muslim

Heard MJ Akbar speking the following. He was analyzing BJP's defeat. This is what he said

"BJP must reconsider theor strategy where players like Varun Gandhi are in fact doing damage. India is secular because H1nd00s are secular. Muslims are not secular. BJP never had M00slim votes and they never lose m00slims votes".

Now will our H1nd00 brother take a less0n ? If Ch1sts and M00s cannot be secular why the h.e.k H1nd00s are secular ? Why don't they support in f00l to Sanghis without whom all of us would have been mguiing Byble or bending in Mosqs. 20% are already doing this.

Just like America showed its guts by electing Obama, an meritorious candidates. Similarly, India has shown that we are mature too. we are not baised with hindu relegious feelings.we have guts and brave enough to vote for non hindu party. we care for growth and Manmohan's merit. We want stable growth. Lets pray that UPA gets stable majority and can maintain the govt for 5 years so that we can develop peacefuly.

Re: Bravo Indains...
by Rajesh Shetty on May 16, 2009 12:44 PM
Mr. Manoj, I would be reall happy if wht u have written is true, but reality is otherwise. Its often a mistaken belief tht Indian voter is matured. Just bcos BJP lost it does not mean so. Have u ever seen newspaper analysis of each constituency, in the run-up to every election ? It reads something like this....'Mr. X has and edge over Mr. Y bcos of the large Gujjar community base, and also bcos he hails from SC community...the upper caste vote this time is split between Mr. Y and Mr. Z......the voters want a Vokkaliga PM this time........blah..blah.."
For your kind info, this is the reality of India. India is so firmly entrenched in its caste based divisions, that to remotely think that we have come of age is like fooling ourselves. This is specially true of rural India. If the voter is truly matured as u suggest, then how could hordes of criminals ever be in the parliament ? How come our electoral system and reforms are still languishing inspite of so much instablity we seen every 5 yrs that is inbuilt in our system ?
Lets stop fooling ourselves..Elections in India are a net result of a tug of war between casteist, economic and religious factors. Depending of which force is stronger, that party wins. In fact the mature voter either has a very insignificant vote base to impact the result, or is so cynical that he does not go to vote at all...!! Lets stop fooling ourselves please....for heaven's sake..!!

We might develop but not necessarily peacefully. Toooo many lives have been lost to terrorism and toooo little has been done against the terrorists.
Anyway....now tht the elections are done and the Congress is thr for the next 5 yrs, it will be interesting to observe if it upkeeps the SC's judgement in the case of Afzal guru.

Advani...........a PM in waiting for whole life!!
by Kabeera Speaking on May 16, 2009 12:27 PM  | Hide replies

I pity on Advani. He tried all the tricks to become a PM. He tried to shed his hindutva image by praising Jinnah. he tried to lift dumbbell to show he is strong. He tried to rebuild his image after kandahar disaster by accusing Vajpayee that he was not consulted on exchange of prisioners. Nothing worked for him.

Best of luck Advani next time(in your second birth).

Bechare Haath malte hi rah gaye.

Advani is a Politician; MMS is a Statesman.

"A POLITICIAN thinks of the next election; a STATESMAN of the next generation." -- Unknown

* Advani has FAILED to answer MMS's simple question till date.
* What did Advani accomplish for India? (covertly demolishing BABRI MASJID?)
* MMS personal contribution to India is inking NUCLEAR DEAL with Nuclear Suppliers Group.
* And MMS defied Communists to get the deal ratified in the Parliament.
